CHINA RAILWAY is in discussions to develop a large copper mine in Congo, with a potential annual output of 200,000-500,000 tonnes. The project, which could become one of the largest copper mines globally, will be located in Kasai-Oriental Province, differing from the current southeastern mining region. Mainland railways completed fixed asset investment of 137.9 billion RMB in the first quarter, an annual increase of 5.1%

China Railway announced its 2025 annual performance, with revenue of 1.09 billion RMB, a year-on-year decrease of 5.8%. Net profit was 22.892 billion RMB, down 17.9%, with earnings per share of 0.848 RMB and a final dividend of 0.086 RMB, compared to 0.178 RMB in the same period last year. The newly signed contract amount for the year was 2.7509 trillion RMB, an increase of 1.3%. This tunnel is a key project for the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu High-Speed Railway, connecting Shanghai and Taicang, Jiangsu, with a total length of 14.25 kilometers.
