Delhi airport to increase passenger handling capacity by 20% by 2030: CEO
The GMR-led Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) plans to increase the Indira Gandhi International Airport's annual passenger capacity by 20% to 125 million by 2029-30. This will be achieved through infrastructure upgrades, including a new pier at Terminal 3 and easing congestion at Terminal 1. The existing Terminal 2 will remain operational for now, with future expansion dependent on passenger traffic. DIAL is also utilizing technology to manage passenger flow effectively, reducing wait times at security checks by 15%.
