Miner Ferrexpo jumps on hopes of Ukraine-Russia peace talks
Shares of Ukraine-focused miner Ferrexpo rose 8.6% to 56.9p, making it one of the top gainers on the FTSE small-cap index. The stock gained as much as 9.7% in early London trading amid hopes for peace talks between Ukraine and Russia, following discussions between U.S. President Trump and Ukrainian President Zelenskiy. However, doubts remain as Russia launched drone strikes on Kremenchuk, and FXPO has seen a 78% decline since the invasion began in 2022, with a year-to-date drop of approximately 48%.
