Taiwan’s top chip fab builder, United Integrated Services (UIS), holds orders on hand worth NT$193.9 billion (US$6.1 billion) as of end-May, a new high amid a TSMC, Micron-led fab building spree in Taiwan, media report, citing UIS President C.M. Lai. He also said UIS’s visibility extends through 2030. Around 2/3s of the orders are from Taiwan, the remainder from overseas. TSMC is now eying up to 12 fabs for Arizona, and an accelerated timetable is prompting more Taiwan partners to invest in the USA as well, DigiTimes reports, citing unnamed sources.
