[Latest News] PortAI: Longbridge's AI-Powered Financial Assistant Based on OpenAI GPT
With the rapid advancement of large language models (LLMs), more companies are exploring ways to integrate this technology into their operations to unlock new growth opportunities. In response to this trend—and the growing demand for faster, smarter financial tools—Longbridge Group launched PortAI, an AI-powered assistant tailored to the securities industry.
Built on OpenAI's GPT and fine-tuned with LongPort's proprietary financial content—including community insights, real-time market data, and in-depth fundamental analysis—PortAI is designed to help users "navigate the port of information and explore the world of investing."
PortAI introduces two innovative features: One-Click Summary and Smart Portfolio Daily Recap, enhancing the way investor consume financial information and manage their portfolios. It is also one of the first publicly available financial AI applications in the fintech industry powered by the OpenAI GPT API.
Launched in April 2023, "One-Click Summary" automatically extracts key points and themes from long-form financial texts, condensing them into clear, concise summaries. This allows users to "quickly grasp the highlights of a 10,000-word report." For example, a 4,000-word article from "Dolphin Research" can be distilled into a 200-word summary within moments. The experience is seamless—users simply click the "Start" button next to the prompt "I'm PortAI, I can summarize articles" to generate the summary.
The second feature, "Smart Portfolio Daily Recap", helps users stay on top of market movements by analyzing and attributing key market events from the previous trading day. It delivers curated insights into broader trends, individual stock performance, and portfolio-relevant developments—helping investors to make informed decisions. This feature also uses intelligent summarization to surface timely updates related to held stocks, enhancing user awareness without offering specific investment advice.
According to Longbridge Group, these tools are only the beginning. Future expansions include an "All-in-One Investment Assistant", an "Educational AI Companion", and advanced tools for indicator analysis. Currently in internal testing, the All-in-One Investment Assistant aims to help users organize and interpret data related to their holdings and watchlist, highlighting notable market events using Longbridge's proprietary models.
PortAI stands out as one of the pioneering AI-powered financial assistants available to end users. Since the launch of ChatGPT and GPT-4 in 2023, the fintech industry has seen a surge in AI innovation. Institutions like Bloomberg and Morgan Stanley have begun exploring similar use cases, and "Financial GPT" solutions are expected to see rapid adoption—driving a new wave of transformation across global markets.
