The overall situation of the market today

portai
I'm PortAI, I can summarize articles.

The overall market situation today (reposting, just witnessed the diversity of species, not sure why there's so much malice on Longbridge, I posted it thinking you might give me a like, it's fine if you don't but don't maliciously attack others, what we need is a clean and orderly communication environment, this is a public channel,)

The US stock market today experienced a small rebound overall. In the past few days, due to escalating Middle East tensions and rapidly rising oil prices, market sentiment was quite tense, with capital clearly leaning towards caution. However, as oil prices have fallen back, market panic has eased somewhat, and tech stocks have once again become the main force driving the index rebound. For stocks you were watching in early trading today that are profitable, you can consider taking profits first.

Looking at the overall picture, the market's current state is actually quite clear:

Macro-level uncertainties still exist, but capital continues to concentrate in the tech and AI directions.

II. The Current Market's Main Theme

The clearest main theme in the US stock market right now is still AI infrastructure.

Capital is mainly concentrated in a few areas:

AI chips
Data centers
Network equipment
Optical communication

Because of this, the performance of many semiconductor and AI supply chain-related companies has been significantly stronger than the broader market. The market is not experiencing a broad-based rally, but rather capital is creating a structural trend around computing power and AI infrastructure.

III. I think the market will mainly focus on three factors next

1️⃣ Oil price trends

Oil prices are one of the important variables currently affecting market sentiment.

If oil prices continue to rise, on one hand, corporate costs will be pushed higher, potentially squeezing profit margins; on the other hand, the market will also start worrying about a resurgence of inflationary pressure. Once inflation expectations heat up, the market will begin to worry about interest rates staying high or even tightening again, which is usually not good news for growth and tech stocks.

Conversely, if oil prices continue to fall back, easing inflationary pressure, market sentiment will also become more stable, and risk assets are often more likely to rebound.

2️⃣ Inflation data (CPI)

CPI remains one of the most sensitive macro data points for the market because it directly affects the Fed's interest rate path.

If inflation continues to fall, market expectations for rate cuts will strengthen, and tech and growth stocks usually benefit.

But if inflation re-emerges, the market may readjust its interest rate expectations, and high-valuation sectors often experience more pronounced volatility. So, around each CPI release, market volatility typically amplifies.

3️⃣ The performance of AI leading companies

The biggest narrative in the US stock market right now is still AI.

Whether it's AI chips, data centers, or computing power infrastructure, the earnings and order situation of these companies are directly affecting market sentiment.

If leading companies continue to deliver strong performance, such as order growth and sustained expansion in capital expenditure, then the logic of the AI supply chain will continue to be reinforced.

But if leading companies start to show slowing growth or declining capital expenditure, the market may also reassess the sustainability of this round of the AI trend.

IV. Simple Summary

For the period ahead, the market is likely to oscillate between macro factors and the AI main theme.

Short-term, focus mainly on three variables:

Oil prices
CPI
The performance of AI leading companies

But from a slightly longer-term perspective, AI infrastructure remains the clearest main theme in the current market. However, I still advise everyone here not to heavily invest in any single stock yet, because the capital in the market is still making choices, and no major trend has emerged, so it's better to be cautious$Tesla(TSLA.US) $Amazon(AMZN.US) $Apple(AAPL.US) $AMD(AMD.US) $Lumentum(LITE.US) $Sandisk(SNDK.US) $Broadcom(AVGO.US) $Micron Tech(MU.US) $NVIDIA(NVDA.US) $Alphabet - C(GOOG.US)
