    $Seatrium(5E2.SG)

    Context:

Seatrium caught my attention after the big changes the company has gone through. The offshore & marine sector is also looking more active, and I think the recovery story is worth keeping an eye on.

    My trade:

I decided to buy Seatrium because I see potential in the turnaround. I’m looking beyond the short-term share price and betting that stronger orders and better execution can improve the company’s earnings over time.

    Takeaway:

This is definitely a higher-risk bet in my portfolio, but I like the potential upside if the turnaround continues. Not expecting overnight results, so I’m willing to be patient with this one.

    $Seatrium(5E2.SG)

    Context:

I’ve been watching Seatrium because the offshore & marine sector looks like it’s entering a more interesting cycle. With energy demand and offshore projects picking up, I think there’s potential for the industry to recover further.

    My trade:

I decided to buy Seatrium as a turnaround play. The company has gone through a major restructuring, and I’m betting that better execution, stronger orders and improving margins can translate into better results over time.

    Takeaway:

Definitely not a low-risk stock, but that’s also why I’m interested. I’m taking a position for the potential upside if the turnaround continues to gain momentum.

    $Seatrium(5E2.SG)

    Context:

Seatrium is definitely one of the more interesting names in my portfolio. The offshore and marine sector has been through a pretty rough cycle, but I think the recovery story is getting more interesting.

    My trade:

I’m holding Seatrium and giving the turnaround some time to play out. This isn’t a stock I’m expecting to move perfectly every day — I’m more interested in whether the company can improve its execution and convert its order book into better earnings.

    Takeaway:

Higher risk, but potentially higher reward. I’m willing to be patient with this one and see if the turnaround story actually delivers.

    $Seatrium(5E2.SG)

    Context:

PropNex is one of those stocks I don’t mind holding through the ups and downs. Singapore property is always something I keep an eye on, and I like having exposure to the sector.

    My trade:

I’m still holding my PropNex shares. I’m not rushing to sell just because there’s some short-term movement. The dividend also gives me another reason to stay invested.

    Takeaway:

Sometimes the best move is simply to hold and let the business do its thing. 😆 I’ll continue monitoring it and see where the property market takes this one. 📈

    $Seatrium(5E2.SG)

    Context:

I’ve been looking at Seatrium because the offshore & marine sector seems to be recovering, with demand for energy infrastructure and offshore projects picking up. After years of restructuring, I think the company has a more interesting setup now.

    My trade:

I decided to buy Seatrium because I’m betting on the recovery story and potential improvement in its order book and profitability. It’s definitely a higher-risk position, so I’m treating it more as a growth/recovery play rather than a defensive stock.

    Takeaway:

This one is more speculative compared with some of my other holdings. The turnaround still needs to play out, but if Seatrium executes well and the offshore cycle stays strong, I think there could be decent upside from here. 📈

    $Seatrium(5E2.SG)

    Context:

Seatrium has been showing a pretty clear turnaround story, with 1H26 net profit jumping 158% YoY and margins continuing to improve. The company also has a S$13.3b order book, so there is still decent visibility on future revenue.

    My trade:

I’m trading Seatrium mainly for the momentum and turnaround story. The earnings improvement gives me a fundamental reason to stay interested, while the strong order book and improving margins give the stock room to rerate if execution continues. I’m not treating it like a buy-and-hold dividend stock, more of a swing trade where I’m looking to ride the recovery and take profit when the momentum starts to weaken.

    Takeaway:

Seatrium is no longer just a recovery story the numbers are starting to show the improvement. But at the same time, expectations are higher now, so I’d rather trade the momentum and manage my entry/exit than chase the stock after a big run. The next catalysts I’m watching are new order wins, margin expansion and further share buybacks. Analysts have also highlighted sizeable order wins and stronger margins as potential re-rating catalysts

It's coming to the end of the month - also where most of the major companies have already reported earnings. As expected, the earnings season has seen some companies rally after posting magnificent results while others slump after posting weaker guidance or simply just due to traders taking profit. It is important to monitor and read in depth into the earnings report of your holdings, but also sometimes the share price don't go as expected due to fear (of say higher capex for e.g.) or just because it was already priced in.

Frencken’s private placement has diluted the share price but I think there is no need to panic. The new capital will give the company a more solid financial position to pursue expansion and mergers and acqusitions.

It will be Fed chairman Warsh’s first speech at Jackson’s Hole and the market will be closely trying to figure out his stance. Hawkish or dovish? I don’t think he will say much but maintain that the Fed will do what is necessary yadah yadah. 🤓

The triple kaiju week is finally ending and the pent up cautious sentiments would be partially, if not fully released. All eyes on the new Fed chair on his lean towards hawkiness or dovishness. It shows the muscle of the market is still the bond market.
