Trading in the iEdge Next 50 Index has accelerated, with the average daily turnover rising to $261 million in Q1 2026, up from $221 million in H2 2025. Despite this growth, the Index experienced slight declines. A rebalance on March 23 will add Haw Par Corp, GuocoLand, Ultragreen.ai, and ValueMax Group, while removing Banyan Tree Holdings, SBS Transit, Geo Energy Resources, and COSCO SHIPPING International Singapore Co. The healthcare sector's representation will double, increasing its weighting from 2%-3% to 6%-7%.

Trading in iEdge Next 50 accelerates as ADT hits $261m

Haw Par and Ultragreen will join the iEdge Next 50 Index on March 23, increasing the Healthcare Sector representation from two to four stocks and lifting its weighting from 2%-3% to 6%-7%. The combined average daily trading turnover of the Index constituents rose to S$261M in 1Q26, up from S$221M in 2H25, driven by technology stocks. Other new additions include GuocoLand and Valuemax Group, while Banyan Tree Holdings and others will be removed from the Index.

iEdge Next 50: Haw Par, Ultragreen to Lift Healthcare Weighting

SGX will add four companies—Haw Par Corp, GuocoLand, UltraGreen.ai, and Valuemax Group—to the iEdge Singapore Next 50 Index starting 23 March. Meanwhile, Banyan Tree Holdings, SBS Transit, Geo Energy Resources, and COSCO SHIPPING International Singapore will be removed. The inclusion of UltraGreen.ai follows its listing on the SGX Mainboard in December 2025. The indices are based on free-float, market capitalisation, and liquidity criteria, tracking companies outside Singapore’s top 30 by market cap. The next review is set for June 2026.

SGX revamps Next 50 index with four additions

The Singapore Exchange announced that starting from March 23, four companies will join the iEdge Singapore Next 50 and iEdge Singapore Next 50 Liquidity Weighted indices, namely Haw Par, GuocoLand, YouChuang KangZhi, and FangYuan Group. At the same time, Banyan Tree, SBS Transit, Geo Energy Res, and Cosco Shp SG will be removed. The new indices aim to enhance market attention on stocks of companies listed on the main board, with selected companies required to meet thresholds for float, market capitalization, and liquidity

On March 2, several companies in Singapore reported significant developments affecting their stock trading. Jardine Cycle & Carriage (JC&C) posted a 36% increase in H2 FY2025 earnings to US$626.7 million, despite a 9% drop in revenue. Sats reported a 20.4% rise in net profit to S$84.7 million for Q3, driven by increased cargo volumes. JC&C shares fell 0.2% to S$35.36, while Sats shares rose 1.3% to S$3.92 before the announcements.

Haw Par Corporation released its performance for the second half of the fiscal year 2025, with net profit increasing by 14.2% to 121.3 million yuan, and annual net profit rising by 16.3% to 265.5 million yuan year-on-year. The increase in net profit is mainly attributed to a significant rise in dividend income, which soared by 27% year-on-year to 189 million yuan. However, revenue from core businesses such as healthcare, leisure, and real estate declined by 6.1% year-on-year, with healthcare revenue dropping by 6.9%. Haw Par Group reported a 14.2% increase in H2 profit to S$121.3 million, despite an 18.2% decline in revenue to S$103.6 million due to weaker healthcare sales. The company proposed a final dividend of S$0.02 per share, pending shareholder approval. For the full year, profit rose 16.3% to S$265.5 million, while revenue fell 6.1% to S$230 million. The healthcare segment saw a 6.9% revenue drop, but operating profit increased by 7.2%. Haw Par anticipates continued economic uncertainty affecting consumer confidence and spending.

Haw Par Corporation reported an 18.2% year-on-year increase in net profit, reaching $144.1 million in H1 2025. Group revenue rose by 7% to $126.3 million, driven by strong demand for healthcare products. The gross margin improved from 54.6% to 56.5%. Other income increased by 20.3% to $116.8 million, attributed to higher dividends from investments. Earnings per share rose to 65.1 cents, and an interim dividend of 20 cents per share was declared, payable on 11 September.
