    $MP Materials(MP.US)

Context: The U.S. is in desperate need of rare earths for clean energy transition, electric vehicles, defense systems, and emerging technologies, such as robotics and data centers. All of which is a solid catalyst for stocks, such as Eastport Critical Metals Corp. and MP Materials. In February, the Trump administration announced "Project Vault," a nearly $12 billion strategic reserve for rare earth elements. In June 2026, the Department of Energy announced $134 million to strengthen domestic rare earth supply chains. In fact, the Rare Earth Elements Demonstration Facility Program supports integrated extraction and separation facilities intended to reduce reliance on foreign suppliers. In addition, just recently, President Trump announced that massive oil, gas, and mineral exploration is preparing to begin in Greenland following security and mineral agreements.

My Trade: Waiting for lower prices to average down and patiently waiting for the long game. It's understandable for the share price weakness as most traders have shifted their attention to other stocks after MP ran up 200% last year.

Takeaway: Such actions could help break U.S. dependence on China, which controls about 80% of the world’s rare earth supply. After all, without rare earths, the world can’t produce smartphones, computers, flat panel televisions, wind turbines, electric vehicle batteries, computer chips, defense equipment, semiconductors, digital cameras, or catalytic converters. @Captain's Treasure

    $MP Materials(MP.US)

Context: MP Materials (MP) fell massively last week, closing at $47.26. The late-week pressure looked like profit-taking after a long advance.

Valuation: a Sept 15 report flagged that MP might trade above fair value after a 142% run, which matched the stock’s pullback this week. The second was a shareholder disclosure the same day, showing California State Teachers Retirement System held $516.73m worth of MP stock. Some commentary framed that as a sign of patient institutional interest, but no company filings indicate a change in the fund’s position during the week. Beyond that, several cross-market pieces mentioned rare earth supply chains and global fragmentation, though those were mostly macro commentary rather than company-specific developments.

My Trade: I started a new position in MP as I believe metals are essential for industrial usage and the stock has retraced substantially after a higher bullish run last year.

Takeaway: Nineteen institutions cover MP Materials. Of those, 13 rate it buy, 5 rate it outperform, and 1 rates it hold, with no underperform or sell ratings. The consensus recommendation is strong buy, with a consensus target price of $74.The target range is wide: a low of $57 against a high of $100. @Captain's Treasure

The rare earth predicted yesterday has already started soaring in the night market

Many stocks are not randomly chosen, but based on the strategic logic for 2026

The market has now entered the era of "hard tech hegemony". The upward momentum of these targets in early 2026 is no longer solely based on financial data, but on their irreplaceability in the national interest chain

Rare earth is not just for batteries, but also essential for F-35 and guided weapons. These companies are the only trump card for "domestic supply in the US"

Although this does not guarantee a "buy with eyes closed" market, standing on the side of policy trends will be more favorable for investment

China’s grip on the rare earth supply chain has become one of the most powerful strategic advantages in the modern world. While the U.S. shows strength through military power and sanctions, China built control over the raw materials that power nearly all advanced technology. It now mines 70% of rare earths, refines 91%, and produces 94% of the magnets used in EVs, chips, and weapons turning resources into geopolitical leverage.

This year Beijing tightened export restrictions on most rare earths, extending them to the technology and machinery used to process them. Any product containing even traces of Chinese origin materials now needs government approval to export, giving China enormous influence over global supply chains

The U.S. military relies heavily on these elements, an F-35 jet alone requires more than 400 kilograms of rare earths. The restrictions directly hit defense applications, leaving contractors scrambling for alternatives. The ripple effects extend across clean energy and tech industries: wind turbines, EVs, and chipmaking tools all face shortages and rising costs.

China’s dominance exists because others let it happen. The U.S. once mined rare earths but sent them to China for refining, allowing Beijing to master every stage from mining to magnet production. Now even new projects abroad depend on Chinese equipment and expertise.

Washington and its allies are trying to catch up. The Pentagon is investing in companies like MP Materials to rebuild domestic capacity, while Australia, Japan, and others work to diversify supply. But experts warn it could take 15–20 years to achieve real independence, as China’s integrated ecosystem, low costs, and ability to flood markets keep it far ahead.

Each time China weaponizes its control, it pushes others to act faster. For now, the world remains largely dependent on Beijing for the materials that power its weapons, technology, and clean energy future and China knows it.
