A report has been widely circulated over the weekend: a significant portion of the revenue cloud providers earn from AI is unrelated to GPUs.You can think of AI model companies as stores located withi...
Never really looked into neoclouds and it might just be me, but the neocloud business looks unattractive...
The biggest supporting argument I hear for them are how high compute prices are, but does this seem dependable for this business? On the other hand, they are: > Capital intensive > Riddled with debt > Very competitive > Low margin If there is someone the equivalent of Nvidia in this business, its is Nebius $Nebius(NBIS.US) Outside of that, everything looks to be low quality. What are the barriers to entry in this business? It seems anyone can open up as a GPU vendor to hyperscalers tomorrow, and be successful. Why? Because Nvidia has GPUs to sell. Do more neoclouds hurt them? Absolutely not. Would love to hear the counter to this. Just an informative debate. I've never done something like this, so maybe it can be useful.

Context: Nebius Group announced the closing of its private offering of convertible senior notes with aggregate gross proceeds of approximately $5.75 billion. The company also entered into exchange agreements to swap certain existing convertible notes for approximately 15.8 million Class A ordinary shares. Nebius intends to use the net proceeds to finance business growth, including data center construction, AI cloud development, and general corporate purposes.
My Trade: Sometimes not doing anything might be the better thing. It was a risky bet when I bought it earlier on, but definitely one that paid off. Current price is still on the high side for my liking so I'm sitting on the fence for now.
Takeaway: Nebius indeed still has a long track way to grow l, provided they manage their finances well, which would most likely be the case with backings from Nvidia. Perhaps a price below $200 could be slightly more intriguing. @Captain's Treasure
