Inventec Trio Jailed for high-end server trade secrets theft: Three ex-Inventec managers received jail sentences, the longest 2 ½ years, for stealing NT$5.4 billion (US$180 million) in high-end server secrets for their new employer, Compal Electronics, media report. Compal was fined NT$200,000 ($6,600) and ordered to destroy the stolen data. The trio, all 10+year Inventec veterans, were found guilty of trade secret and copyright violations by the Taipei District Court. They must also pay Inventec compensation.
