
ASE, the chip packaging giant, purchased an old display factory from Innolux for NT$14.85 billion (US$470M), with another NT$982 million for costs related to an early handover of the plant, media report, adding early rumors had said Micron would buy the Innolux plant. ASE plans to convert it for advanced semiconductor packaging.
