Do you know what Cerebras does?
Standard companies like $NVIDIA(NVDA.US) or $AMD(AMD.US) take a large wafer of silicon and cut it into hundreds of tiny separate chips. To build a powerful AI server they have to wire all those small chips back together. This creates a bottleneck because data has to slow down every time it travels across a wire from one chip to another.Cerebras $Cerebras(CBRS.US) does something entirely different. They do not cut the silicon. They build one giant chip the size of a dinner plate. It is the largest single computer chip in the world. Because the data never has to leave the silicon to travel over wires it moves instantly. This architecture removes the physical traffic jams that limit the speed of traditional AI hardware. The technology is a generational breakthrough but the IPO is a different story. These offerings are typically priced to benefit the founders and early VC's rather than the retail like us. By the time you can buy shares on an exchange the price will likely reflect years of future growth already priced in.Buying a hyped IPO at a massive premium is often a recipe for a long period of stagnation or loss. It is usually wiser to wait for the initial excitement to fade and for the lockup period to end before you consider a position. Let the technology prove itself in the market before you pay a premium for the potential. The copyright of this article belongs to the original author/organization.
