Rumor: Samsung Chairman Jay Lee is on a low-key visit to Taiwan to win smartphone chip giant MediaTek as a new foundry client, media report, adding both companies declined comment. Samsung is reportedly leveraging its memory chip dominance and smartphone business to win over MediaTek. Lee’s visit is expected to include other chip designers, and AI server makers.
