one memory i have of course started in primary school - those school gifts that said ‘national day 1994’. could be a pouch, a plastic folder, a toothbrush/toothpaste cup or a soft pencil case hahaha. every year we’d have something from the school. don’t see that nowadays. in the past, lyrics to national day songs were a breeze to memorise too!

AMD looks like a good topic for today. It reported good results but price retreated. To be fair, it has rallied quite a fair bit since last week so was due a breather.
It has been consolidating around these levels which is good to store energy before another push to new highs. Hopefully!

Markets like to climb when people don’t expect it to. It’s just how sentiments are. After a pullback of a prolonged duration like what Tech went through, most expect a bounce. But as the bounce gets higher and nearer to the ATH, that’s when everyone turns bullish again.

Looks like the apple has dropped from the tree. It was majestically high up above the other tech names while higher beta tech was being sold off.
As I mentioned, Apple is defensive tech and with a huge market cap, it is easy to park big swathes of capital rotated from the sold off higher betas and preserve them.
When sentiments become risk on again, they rotate out to higher betas again. Look at the divergence in price ever since high beta tech’s low last week.
Apple is a good company but they belong to the sunsetting mobile/ social media micro trend which defined the early 2000s. AI is the new micro trend and unless they pivot quickly, they risk becoming the next Nokia. Even Nokia has learnt something and moving into AI.

The major indices are going strong and markets that usually support a bull market like the financials are strong as well. Coupled with apprehension and doubt, I am not quite sure the top is in yet. Maybe close but the markets look like its about to take off again.
Amazon became the fifth company ever worth $3 trillion. Then Palantir printed 93% revenue growth after the bell while still sitting 40% below its own high.

Nvidia has been rather quiet of late. But that is to be expected having such a big market cap, she has become more like a blue chip rather than a growth stock like she once was.
However, value wise, she does look attractive at these levels, especially if she can show that her growth is not done yet.

Amazon’s results strengthened my bullish view because the company’s two highest-quality businesses—AWS and advertising—continued to deliver healthy growth.
While free cash flow softened due to ongoing AI infrastructure investment, I view that as a strategic decision rather than a structural weakness.
If AWS continues accelerating alongside enterprise AI adoption, today’s elevated capex could become tomorrow’s competitive moat.
For long-term investors, I believe Amazon remains one of the best-positioned companies to monetise the AI cycle across both cloud computing and e-commerce.

What an amazing turnaround for high beta tech. Prices have gotten so cheap and oversold that it was only a matter if time.
There are only so much to go around and great discounts get snapped up very fast.
AMD has performed very well and looks set to continue soaring on capital flow back into high beta tech. They were all hiding in defensive names and now the mega hyperscaler boys have reported and assured that AI buildout continues, the coast is clear and they are streaming back.

What a week it has been. This is what sentiment is. At the top, everyone wants to buy. Down here, no one wants to buy. But prices are much cheaper here. Thats how trends are also. Not many has the courage to do things using their own thought process.
