ABNB declined 1.3% to $168.82, pressured by profit-taking following recent gains despite robust earnings. Pre-market traded as high as $172.70 before retreating to $167.44 during the regular session, recovering slightly to $169.12 post-market. Q2 delivered strong results—EPS of $1.37 surged 33.38% year-over-year, with operating revenue reaching $3.608 billion (+16.54% YoY) and net profit climbing 27.1%—yet year-to-date gains of 26.92% have attracted realization trades. The stock trades near its 20-day moving average ($167.78) amid elevated valuation at 37.56x PE, creating tension with underlying earnings momentum. Recent policy changes prohibiting hosts from requiring guests to perform chores may fuel host income concerns. American Express integration of Airbnb bookings on its travel platform offers synergy potential, while RBC maintains a buy rating, though near-term consolidation persists.
- Oct, 26
Airbnb shares declined roughly 0.56% to $171.05, reversing strong pre-market gains to $174.825 (up ~1.6% from prior close of $172.01), as profit-taking and host backlash against new guest-chore restrictions (announced mid-to-late October) weighed on sentiment. The company's policy limiting guests' household responsibilities sparked notable controversy among the platform's host community; meanwhile, American Express' integration of Airbnb bookings onto its travel platform provided modest support. Q2 2026 results demonstrate solid operational momentum: earnings per share of $1.37 advanced 33.38% year-over-year, revenue reached $3.608 billion (up 16.54%), net profit totaled $816 million (up 27.1%), and net margin expanded to 22.62%. From a valuation standpoint, the stock has gained 28.6% year-to-date but has retraced 11.58% from its August peak of $193.453, with current P/E multiple of 38.06 reflecting already-elevated expectations; investors are now weighing solid growth narrative against stretched valuations.
- Oct, 23
Airbnb retreated 2.1% today, primarily driven by profit-taking pressure following a substantial prior rally. The stock surged to $176.24 in premarket (04:51 ET) but gradually declined through the regular session, bottoming at $171.69 before closing at $172.01 after a modest post-market recovery. On the news front, the company recently restricted guests from chores—banning hosts from requiring guests to wash dishes or make beds—a policy shift stirring mixed reactions from hosts. Meanwhile, a partnership with American Express integrating Airbnb bookings into their travel platform highlights ongoing platform expansion. Earnings show strong fundamentals: Q2 revenue hit $3.61B (up 16.5% YoY), net margin 22.6%, and EPS $1.37 (up 33% YoY). Price-wise, the stock has climbed 29.3% year-to-date and sits above both 20- and 60-day moving averages, yet remains 11.1% below the 52-week peak of $193.45. With a P/E of 38.3x, valuation is already elevated, warranting attention to whether earnings momentum can sustain current levels.
- Oct, 22
Airbnb closed up 1.2% at $176.27 today, exhibiting a pronounced reversal after pre-market weakness. Pre-market trading dipped to $168.60, but the stock staged a strong rebound during regular session to $176.50, extending gains in post-market trading above $177. Latest Q2 results confirm solid fundamentals: revenue of $3.608 billion (+16.5% year-over-year), net income of $816 million (+27.1% YoY), with net margin of 22.6%, demonstrating continued earnings expansion. American Express launched a partnership integrating Airbnb bookings and rewards into the Amex Travel platform, broadening user acquisition avenues. The company also updated community standards, restricting hosts from requesting guests perform household chores—a move drawing some host resistance but enhancing platform ecosystem health. Priced at 32.1% above year-start and trading near 52-week highs of $193.45 (currently -9.15% below), the stock sits in elevated territory with a P/E of 39.1x, demanding vigilance on whether earnings growth momentum can sustain current valuations.
- Oct, 21
Airbnb dropped 1.84% to $173.69 today, pulling back from the intraday peak of $177.43 after profit-taking pressure intensified following a 10% run-up over the past two weeks. Fundamentally, the company remains resilient with Q2 revenue of $3.608B (up 16.54% YoY), net profit of $816M (up 27.1% YoY), and EPS of $1.37 (up 33.38% YoY), indicating sustained growth momentum. From a valuation perspective, the stock has appreciated 30.58% year-to-date but trades 10.22% below its 52-week high of $193.45, at a PE multiple of 38.65 suggesting elevated valuations. Analyst support from RBC Capital maintaining a buy rating provides some underpinning, though the company's new guest conduct policies including cleaning task restrictions represent operational refinements.

Community Star$Airbnb(ABNB.US)
Airbnb $Airbnb(ABNB.US) has delivered a quarter that materially strengthens the bull case. The Business Times highlighted robust travel demand and the 2026 World Cup catalyst; Q2 revenue jumped 17% YoY to US$3.61bn, EPS rose 33% to US$1.37, while nights/seats booked increased 10% to 148.3m. Management lifted FY2026 revenue growth to mid-teens and expects adjusted EBITDA margin of at least 35.5%.
Fundamentally, AI-driven conversion and customer-service efficiencies, alongside hotel supply growing nearly 3x faster than home listings, broaden Airbnb’s TAM. Wedbush upgraded to Outperform with a US$200 target, while Benchmark raised its target to US$180.
Valuation remains the caveat: ABNB previously traded around 28–30x forward earnings, above traditional travel peers. After the earnings surge toward US$176, the margin of safety has narrowed.
Technically, the breakout above the US$147.25 base is bullish, but the ~16% one-day surge risks near-term overextension. Entry: wait for a pullback toward US$160–165 rather than chase. Options: cash-secured puts around US$155–160 offer a better risk/reward; bullish investors could consider a US$165/190 call spread to cap premium risk.
View: Bullish fundamentally, tactically cautious.
