DUOL (Trans): DAU +23%, Max plan may be discontinued

Q2 DAU rose 23% YoY, with growth accelerating vs. Q1. The full-year Adj. EBITDA margin target was raised to 26.5% from 25%.

Bookings and revenue guidance ranges were unchanged. Q3 bookings growth is only 9%.

Leveraging open-source models, the company cut video-call cost per session from $0.30 to below $0.01 and rolled the feature down to Super users. The Max tier faces caps or a potential sunset.

It's not like market is being unfair to $Duolingo(DUOL.US). MAU increased just 6% to 137.8M, well below analyst expectations of 145M. AI is helping accelerate lesson creation, but it hasn't yet translated into faster user growth. Not worth touching until they prove.
