Air China increased passenger capacity by 4% in December, and cargo and mail turnover rose by 5.3%

Air China announced that passenger capacity input in December increased by 4% year-on-year, and passenger turnover increased by 10%. Domestic passenger capacity input rose by 4.2%, while international passenger capacity input rose by 4.1%. The average passenger load factor was 82.2%, an increase of 4.5 percentage points. In terms of cargo, capacity input increased by 1.9%, and cargo and mail turnover increased by 5.3%

Cathay Pacific reduces fuel surcharge in February, with an overall reduction of over 25%

CATHAY PAC AIR announced that it will reduce the fuel surcharge starting from February 1, 2026, with an overall reduction of more than 25%. The surcharge for short-haul flights will decrease from HKD 191 to HKD 142, for South Asia subcontinent flights from HKD 356 to HKD 264, and for long-haul flights from HKD 767 to HKD 569. CATHAY PAC AIR stated that it will regularly review the fuel surcharge and adjust it based on aviation fuel market prices and other operational factors
