Boeing after suffering from the 737 Max 2 fatal crashed (2018 and 2019) and door plug issue which caused a blown door in mid air (2024) is slowly climbing back from his deepest crisis in quality control. The latest earnings Q2 2026 show an encouraging performance with rising revenue US$24.6 billion but profit missed expectations due to the cost overruns amounting to US$280 million of the yet to be delivered Air Force 1 for POTUS. Boeing won the contract for building 2 Air Force 1 with price tag of US$3.9 billion (2018) but it seems that they miscalculated the cost and has to bear every dollar of cost exceeding the contract price. Kospi index has risen more than double since early 2025 (2399 at start of 2025 and 6023 as of 28 Jul), this is unprecended and an correction is expected.The rise of the index is caused retail investor leveraging on borrowed money which is not healthy. Kospi is very much consists of Skhynix and Samsung which were rocketed with their HBM product. Skhynix hold around 58% and Samsung 40% of market shares. Intel beat earnings at US$16.13 billion, a 25% increase from last year. However the share which was up 15% in post market after the earnings announcement was down 8% during market trading last Fri. CNBC's Jim Cramer vouched for this stock before the stock fell. Investors value engagement metrics—viewing hours, retention and time spent on the platform—because they are leading indicators of pricing power, advertising growth, content success and future cash flow. Less frequent reporting reduces visibility into Netflix’s operating momentum.
The withdrawal from the proposed Warner Bros. acquisition added uncertainty. While the decision demonstrated capital discipline, it also raised questions about whether management has become more conservative in pursuing expansion, tempering expectations for transformative growth.
Fundamentally, Netflix remains the streaming industry’s profitability leader, with operating margins near 28%, robust free cash flow and superior earnings versus Disney+, Max and Paramount+. Technically, the post-earnings pullback has weakened momentum, but the retracement appears driven by reduced transparency rather than deteriorating fundamentals. Long-term investors and option sellers may find opportunities once technical support stabilises and confidence returns.

Despite trading near all-time highs, Netflix keeps delivering through steady subscriber growth, improving profitability, strong free cash flow, and successful monetization of its ad-supported tier. The company also benefits from a global content library, exclusive originals, and expanding live sports and entertainment events that help strengthen user engagement. I would be lying if I say I'm not worried about Netflix's stock performance over the past year. However, EPS is still growing strongly. People like to conveniently say that growth is slowing because they included the breakup fee from the WBD deal, but if we exclude that one time payment, Netflix's growth is still intact, with room to grow for the advertisement portion as well.

$Netflix(NFLX.US) has a lot of work to do. They have so much competition from Youtube, Disney, Paramount, Peacock, what not.

It definitely isn’t the performance I was hoping for, but this is part of investing. I’m taking this opportunity to reassess the business, monitor subscriber growth, advertising revenue, and future content pipeline instead of reacting emotionally. For now, I’m staying patient and sticking to my investment plan. Sometimes the best returns come from enduring uncomfortable periods. Anyone else still holding Netflix, or are you buying this dip?
Netflix woos deepen. After the stock slide on the propose intention to buy Paramount, at the time it was the worry that the huge purchase bill amounting to US$83 billion will weigh down on its gearing, stock down by ~18%, then it was co-founder Reed Hastings who exited Netflix, another ~10% down. And now a slightly above expectation Q2 2026 earning but with a bleak forecast, another ~7% down. The only good news were when the stock split of 10-1 on 30 Oct, 2025, stock rose by ~2% and the termination of Paramount purchase, stock rose ~14% on 26 Feb, 2026. It has dropped more than 40% from US$134 on June 2025 to the current US$68. Do you still believe in Netflix?

they leveraged AI for their smart recommendation system and rolled out a bunch of features.
Now, the long-form video market is saturated, and short-form videos are dominating.
I haven't paid attention to it for years.
