$Microsoft(MSFT.US) On Monday, Microsoft Corporation announced plans to lay off approximately 4,800 employees, or 2.1% of its global workforce, primarily affecting its sales division and Xbox gaming business. This workforce reduction aims to cut costs and focus on investments like AI infrastructure to maintain competitiveness in the industry. Xbox CEO Asha Sharma confirmed the layoffs will continue through fiscal year 2027, with significant structural changes planned for several Xbox studios. In my opinion, this structural overhaul comes at the right time as the Xbox department has been struggling for years, losing out to competitors like PlayStation & Nintendo. Microsoft needs to revamp its gaming sector to stop burdening it's overall operations. @Bridge Buzz SG
