$Rocket Lab(RKLB.US)has seen a mix of constructive company-specific developments in recent days amid an ongoing stock correction. As of July 23, 2026, shares were trading around roughly 54% below the May peak, after a multi-month pullback driven by SpaceX IPO-related sector rotation, valuation concerns, earlier insider selling, and broader market pressures.

The most notable positive catalyst is a $266 million firm-fixed-price contract awarded by the U.S. Space Force (Space Systems Command) around July 20–21 for 12 suborbital launches under the HASTE program, primarily supporting hypersonic and missile-defense testing from the Pacific Spaceport Complex in Alaska. The work runs through the end of 2028, with options for six additional launches and roughly $112 million obligated upfront. This expands Rocket Lab’s defense backlog and further validates its responsive/suborbital launch capabilities.

Separately, the Space Force raised the ceiling on its National Security Space Launch (NSSL) Phase 3 Lane 1 contract vehicle from $5.6 billion to $17 billion. Rocket Lab is one of the seven qualified vendors (alongside SpaceX, ULA, Blue Origin, and others), which meaningfully increases potential future national security launch task-order opportunities through fiscal 2029.

In less than 48 hours, the global AI race accelerated once again. From Open AI and Anthropic to $Microsoft(MSFT.US)$SpaceX(SPCX.US)and$Alphabet - C(GOOG.US), five of the world’s largest tech cos announced major new investments in AI infrastructure, committing 100 of bill of doll to expand computing capacity.

The message is becoming increasingly clear: the AI hardware cycle is far from over.

As foundation models continue to mature, the industry’s competitive focus is shifting towards the infras that powers them - chips, networking, memory, cooling systems and electricity.

For investors, the biggest oppt may lie not only with AI developers, but with the Cos supplying the essential tools behind the boom.

GOOGL 2Q26 First Take: As a top-tier global AI buyer, Alphabet’s earnings are a focal point for the entire tech supply chain. Key metrics include Capex, Cloud growth, and cash flow trends:

(1) Capex hit $44.9bn, doubling YoY. Management raised FY26 Capex guidance from $180-190bn to $195-205bn (+ $10bn net) and expects a significant increase in 2027. This aligns with buy-side expectations of a $5-10bn hike due to rising storage costs.

(2) Google Cloud grew 82%, slightly beating the buy-side’s 75-80% estimate. Note that this includes TPU hardware sales, though revenue recognition details (Gross vs. Net of Broadcom’s share) remain undisclosed. Backlog reached $514bn, meeting the $500bn investor threshold.

(3) Core Ads slightly beat estimates. Search remained robust as expected, while YouTube Ads showed a modest recovery.

(4) Group OP slightly missed. Free Cash Flow (FCF) turned negative (-$5.8bn) amid aggressive spending. EPS surged 294%, primarily driven by valuation gains from investments in SpaceX and Anthropic, making it a distorted metric for core fundamentals.

Overall, the results favor the supply chain 'bull case.' Management remains highly aggressive on AI investment due to strong demand. This offsets the market’s high Capex expectations, offering supply chain investors a temporary sigh of relief.

Conversely, aggressive spending pressures short-term fundamentals, especially during this 'weak conviction' phase where Gemini iterations face hurdles and growth bases rise. Despite impressive Cloud revenue and backlog growth, the unexpected negative FCF and Capex guidance suggest cash flow pressure will persist.

Of the $80bn+ financing announced earlier this year, $49.6bn has been executed, with the remaining $40bn in follow-on offerings starting in Q3. Assuming FY27 OCF of $250bn, plus current cash and short-term investments of $2400bn and the $40bn from future offerings, a total liquidity of $540bn could support the aggressive buy-side Capex forecast of $350bn for 2027.

The remaining ~$200bn can cover ad-hoc investments and maturing long-term debt. However, managing this cash exposure remains challenging. We cannot rule out the possibility of additional financing beyond current plans. $Alphabet(GOOGL.US) $Alphabet - C(GOOG.US)

spacex finally snapped the seven day slide, +3% today. still under the 135 ipo price and first earnings arent till aug 4 so theres a lot left to prove. i like the long term story but not touching it until we see actual numbers. watching from the side

I didn't see $SpaceX(SPCX.US) pop in time, else would have added more. A nice confirmation of "Gap up and no one cares" pattern. 100 or lower in bound IMO. Just because a rich business(wo) man bought who made money elsewhere and not in stock market doesn't mean its worth buying.

But so glad to see p/l of 142%c hahaha.. is because these are mainly from the free share I got from buying Tesla stock. Beneath the index, risk appetite was firmer than the headline suggests, with several smaller names posting double-digit gains. REITs were mixed to slightly firmer, not showing the yield pressure I was watching for this morning despite rising US Treasury yields.

MACRO INTO TOMORROW

Focus remains on tonight’s US session for direction on yields and any spillover into REIT valuations. Today gave no clean signal. The Iran and oil situation remains unresolved. Priority is identifying what is driving CSE Global’s move before tomorrow’s brief.

After the close, SGX announced Singapore depository receipts for Grab, Sea and SpaceX will begin trading tomorrow. This allows SGD exposure via CDP without a foreign brokerage account. This is access expansion, not a forensic call.
