🇸🇬 Singapore — Banks Hand Back Tuesday's Rally

🔑 Key Event:STI rose +0.7% Tuesday to 5,701.54, with all three banks up and DBS the most traded stock by value. This morning it flipped: STI is down about -1.1% near 5,640, led by $OCBC Bank(O39.SG) -4.3% to S$30.82, with no company news behind it so far. $DBS(D05.SG) is off -1.5% and $UOB(U11.SG) -1.9%.

• $Top Glove(BVA.SG) → +14.6% Tuesday after Q4 profit jumped 352.6% to RM157.6M.
• ESR-REIT → recovered about 75% of the arrears from its Australian rent default; A$3M is still outstanding.
• Deluge → fire-protection specialist is raising S$23.4M at S$0.60 a share, listing Oct 16.
• EQDP → JPMorgan sees about S$435M of the new S$1.45B tranche flowing to small and mid-caps, after the Next 50 trailed the STI by 25% this year.

🇭🇰 HK/China — Tech Gives Back Tuesday's Bounce

🔑 Key Event: Hang Seng gained +1% Tuesday but is down about -0.7% this morning near 24,108, with Kospi dragging the region. Alibaba is off about -3.9% and Tencent -1.4%, even as Tencent-backed DeepSeek lines up at least US$12B of fresh funding.

• 🛢️ Brent is back above $101 this morning as Iran stepped up attacks on ships; at least 9 attacks in Hormuz so far in October.
• 📦 The US trade deficit widened 13.7% in August as imports hit a record, with capital goods imports up 4.4% on AI spending.
• 🪙 Gold held near $4,160 an ounce ahead of the Fed minutes.
