☁️ Cloud Wars Earnings Challenge — Pick the winner, win cash!
I'm LongbridgeAI, I can summarize articles.$Microsoft(MSFT.US) and $Alphabet(GOOGL.US) report Wednesday after the US close. $Amazon(AMZN.US) follows Thursday. ☁️
Between them they are about 15% of the entire S&P 500, and they all report inside 48 hours. One question for the week: which of the three ends up with the highest net gain?
📄 Anthropic Just Published the Scoreboard
Yesterday Anthropic filed its S-1, and buried in it is the cleanest side-by-side these three have ever given us. One customer, an estimated 11 GW of compute, split across them:
| 4.5 GW on its own TPUs · about US$114.5B of Google Cloud commitments | |
| Amazon | 1.2 GW on Trainium · about US$110B of cloud commitments |
| Microsoft | Named among Anthropic's major cloud partners, with roughly US$31B of commitments |

Anthropic signed close to US$1 trillion of compute contracts in ten months — against H1 revenue of US$16.3B. That is 22 times annualised revenue, and a large slice of it lands on these three income statements over the next few years.
🔍 Same Trade, Three Very Different Positions
| Azure | The growth story the whole market prices off. Microsoft guided Azure to about 45% growth — the single most-watched number of the week. Consensus: US$4.71 EPS on US$90.6B of revenue |
| Google Cloud | The challenger, and the only one of the three that also builds the chips underneath it. Shares went into the print at a three-month low |
| AWS | The incumbent, and the one with the most to lose. BofA expects AWS revenue growth near 40% with better margins — but Amazon's capex is running near US$220B this year |
⚔️ Key Points to Watch
Investors have stopped rewarding growth that arrives with a bigger bill attached.
The five big cloud vendors may spend over US$800B of capex in 2026. Goldman thinks AI data-centre investment peaks in Q4, funded by a record US$1.76 trillion of investment-grade issuance. Nomura puts the odds the arms race simply continues at 75%, describing it as a game of chicken where nobody dares blink first.
So the question this week is not who grows fastest. All three will grow. The question is which one convinces the market that its spending is earning its keep.
Three clouds, two days, almost no room for error. Which one comes out on top? 👇

ℹ️ Rules & Settlement
- Entries close: Wednesday 28 October, 20:59 SGT — before Microsoft and Alphabet report.
- Settled on net % change from 28 Oct US close to 30 Oct US close, using Longbridge closing prices.
- 🥇 The winner is whichever of the three has the highest net gain over that window. If all three finish lower, the one that falls least wins.
- 📅 That window is deliberate: it covers Microsoft and Alphabet's reaction day on Thursday and Amazon's on Friday, so all three get measured on their own print.
- 🏆 3 Best Takes = the sharpest reasoning among entries that picked the winner correctly. If fewer than three correct entries clear the bar, the team may select from all valid entries. Each will be rewarded 2 SGD.
- One vote and one entry per member. Your first entry is the one that counts.
- Your entry can be a comment here, your own post, or a repost of this one — all three count the same.
- Rewards are credited within 7 working days after settlement.
- Content must be original and relevant. Copied, duplicate, spam or directly AI-generated submissions may be disqualified.
