$Lion-phillip S-Reit(CLR.SG)
Context
I noticed that S-REIT prices had declined, and I viewed the price weakness as an opportunity to gradually build my position at a lower average cost. Since I was already interested in gaining exposure to the sector for its potential distribution income and longer-term recovery, I did not want to react to the short-term price movement by selling. Instead, I saw the decline as a chance to continue accumulating gradually.
My trade
I added to my S-REIT position because the price had dropped and I wanted to dollar-cost average into the investment. Rather than committing a large amount of capital at once, I added a manageable amount so that I could continue building my position over time if prices remained attractive. My decision was based on my longer-term view of the sector rather than trying to predict when the price would reach its lowest point.
Takeaway
Next time, I would set clearer price levels and position limits beforehand so that my DCA decisions are based on a defined plan rather than simply reacting to a price decline.
