Dow +263 points to a record 54,349 while Nasdaq gave up 0.83% to 26,363 and S&P slipped 0.17%. same session. healthcare carried the Dow with Lilly +4.9% and Amgen +4.6% while the AI complex paid for the earnings reactions. this is rotation, not risk off, and the two get confused constantly.

held my $Sandisk(SNDK.US) from the 2100 chase all the way down to 1411 now 🤡 that's -35% from the 52 week high and i rode most of it. genuinely painful. i'm not selling at the low into a supply-fear flush though, NAND pricing is still tight. taking the L on the bad entry timing, keeping the core. lesson about chasing parabolas, relearned for the third time.

still holding my $Sandisk(SNDK.US) from the 2100 chase 🤡 rode it up, rode it back down, net basically flat and a lot of stress for nothing. lesson relearned about chasing parabolas. i'm not selling into the dump though, the structural NAND story is intact and i'd rather hold the core than realize the L at the low. sitting on my hands.

TSMC Reports Tomorrow. After This Week's Memory Frenzy, It's the Number That Confirms or Kills the Hype.

This week the AI trade went parabolic on the demand side. SK Hynix ripped 27%, memory got double upgrades, IBM blew up because clients were hoarding chips. Tomorrow, Thursday, TSMC reports Q2, and it ...

TSMC Reports Thursday. It's the One Number That Settles the Whole AI Chip Debate.

The market spent this week arguing about whether the AI chip trade is topping. Memory crashed on a margin scare, Nvidia fell in sympathy, everyone has an opinion. On Thursday, TSMC reports Q2 and stop...

so two weeks ago i was panicking about my $Micron Tech(MU.US) add being underwater in a bear market 🤡 now SK Hynix debuts +14%, memory's "undersupplied till 2030," and MU's back near 980. the dip really was the gift the bulls said it was, and i almost sold it. held my core by discipline more than conviction. not adding into the run, just relieved.

so last week i was down bad on my $Sandisk(SNDK.US) add at 2100, panicking. this week it ripped back double digits and Bernstein's at $3,000 🤡 the lesson is not "i was right", it's "i almost sold the bottom out of fear". held my core by luck as much as discipline. not adding into the rip, just relieved.

still holding $Sandisk(SNDK.US) from my 2100 chase while it printed 1485 intraday today 🤡 down a lot on that add, no way to sugarcoat it. i took the L on the trade portion and kept my core. NAND pricing is still elevated so i believe the long-term story, i just paid tuition on the timing. not adding into this chop.

ok i'm the idiot holding $Sandisk(SNDK.US) from 2100 while it's at 1617 now 🤡 down 25% from where i chased. lesson very much relearned about vertical candles. i'm not selling into a bear market bottom out of panic though, holding the core and taking the L on the add. NAND pricing is still real.

still holding $Sandisk(SNDK.US) through that -13% Wednesday and i'll admit i nibbled the dip near the lows out of pure FOMO 🤡 US reopens today so we find out if the bounce is real or if i caught a knife. NAND pricing didn't change over the weekend though. holding, not adding more into the reopen.

confession: i bought more $Sandisk(SNDK.US) at 2100 this morning during the pump and it closed 2032 🤡 already red on the day trade. this is exactly what chasing a parabola feels like. lesson relearned, i do not add into vertical candles. sitting tight now, not adding a single share more.

held $Sandisk(SNDK.US) through worse than a 10% red day this year already lol. NAND pricing didn't change between yesterday and today. not adding, not trimming, just letting it ride 🤷

ocbc up around 18% this year to a record and now jpm downgrades it. classic late cycle analyst move, flag the valuation only after the big run is done. fundamentals are fine, the stock just priced in a lot of good news already

A
applepieJun 18 at 04:36 AM

serious question, when memory is this hot and even Apple can't absorb the cost, who actually loses? consumers? or does the whole chain just keep ripping

A
applepieJun 17 at 10:43 AM

just DCA my QQQ like every other week, down 1.7 today does not change a thing. time in the market beats timing the market

+10% is nice but foundry still needs real margins, not just upgrades and headlines. cautious here 👀

A
applepieJun 12 at 07:17 AM

$Super Micro Computer(SMCI.US) popped 9% because the market flipped the narrative on the 7B raise from dilution to order fuel. but the real test is conversion: can a thin margin assembler turn a cancellable AI backlog into durable profit? the demand looks real, the execution risk is the whole story. I want to see the margins before I believe the re-rating 🧠

foundry story needs real margins not just headlines. watching, not buying yet 👀
