Many new folks who join our group come with common problems, "I lost money in 0DTEs, lost money in weeklies" is the common pattern.

Here is a thought, Buy 500 shares of $SCHD for your kid today (~$17k). Then add $500/month. Turn on DRIP. Leave it alone. Dividend growth ~9–10%. Price compounds.

You want to see the magic?

    - Year 1: ~$25k

    - Year 5: ~$69k

    - Year 10: ~$159k

    - Year 15: ~$320k

    - Year 25: ~$1.14M paying ~$45–50k/year

    You put in ~$167k total.

The market and compounding did the rest. Don't fall for 0DTEs, Lottos and all that shit, not designed for you.

Could be a good buy for mid term … caveat emptor…

"Dollar Cost Average" into index funds like $VOO & $SCHD and NEVER SELL.

First FellowJul 2 at 12:05 PM

If you DCA into $SCHD $500 per month and do nothing else...

    Year 1: $6,300

    Year 5: $38,500

    Year 10: $98,000

    Year 15: $190,000

    Year 20: $330,000

    Year 25: $550,000

    Year 30: $890,000+

Let the market work for you. The dividend snowball starts small, but it becomes an avalanche. This is how compounding works.

$Schwab US Div Eq(SCHD.US) have been dollars cost averaging into SCHD for 1 year

Have been performing well for this year. Hope this will continue on for next season and SCHD is one of my core holding in my portfolio together with S&P 500 and QQQ

I will continue dollars cost averaging to the end of this year and to rebalance my portfolio

If you want to make 150k to 200k a year in pure dividends, you have to start buying companies that actually pay you to hold them.

Buy individual cash flow machines. Many of these names $Verizon(VZ.US), $Altria(MO.US), $Realty Income MD(O.US), $Pfizer(PFE.US), $SCHD, $JEPI, etc. pay 5 to 8% yields right now.

Dollar Cost Average, Turn on DRIP, Dividends automatically buys more shares. Let the compounding do it's magic.

This is my humble U.S. stock holdings, mainly made up of defensive income stocks. I know my portfolio is still very much a newbie’s collection, but I’m learning as I go. I’d really appreciate any advice, comments, or suggestions on how I can improve my holdings and build a stronger portfolio over time.
