AMD vs. NVDA: Can Helios Measure Up?

In the market for commercially sold GPUs, competition is essentially a two-horse race between $NVIDIA(NVDA.US) and $AMD(AMD.US). In the MI300 era, AMD captured little of the AI compute upside due to the lack of a system-level solution, with interconnects at its core.

Now Helios is here. That raises two questions: 1) does AMD truly have the capability to go head-to-head with NVIDIA, and 2) as interconnect schemes compete and iterate, how will supply-chain dynamics shift, who benefits, and who loses? We will examine these issues through the lens of interconnect.

NVDA Supply Ramp? DELL: Good Times Can Get Even Better!

DELL released FY2027 Q2 results after hours, Beijing time Sep 2. The quarter ended in Jul 2026.

    1) AI revenue: Within ISG, the high-growth AI server line delivered only modest QoQ incremental revenue. This is not a concern, as the backlog swelled again on massive order intake.

AI server revenue was approx. $16.4bn, up $0.3bn QoQ and ahead of the Street's $15.8bn. New AI orders surged to $60.9bn...

NVDA (Trans): Demand to grow 70%+ next year; cloud backlog tops 2 tn

Q2 revenue reached $96bn, doubling YoY, and the company for the first time guided FY28 growth at approx. 70%.

This figure is supply‑constrained, with underlying demand growth near 100%.

Rising memory prices will compress GPM to a Q4 low of 71–72%, while non‑hyperscaler ACIE is set to account for half of the data center business.

$NVIDIA(NVDA.US)Nice to see NVDA continuing to recover after the recent correction. For me, the bigger picture still looks constructive.

AI infrastructure spending remains very strong, with hyperscalers continuing to commit huge capex to compute. At the same time, Nvidia is moving from Blackwell toward Vera Rubin, so the growth story is not dependent on just one generation of GPUs. Recent market optimism around Rubin demand also supports the idea that AI compute demand is still far from slowing down. (MarketWatch)

Now the focus shifts to earnings on Aug 26. Expectations are already high, so volatility before and after the result is something I’m watching closely. (NVIDIA Investor Relations)

For now I’m comfortable holding. The short-term price can move either way, but as long as AI capex remains strong and Nvidia keeps its technology lead, I still like the medium-to-long term setup.

Holding and letting the thesis play out. 📈 @Captain's Treasure

    Morgan Stanley: Memory

    Agentic AI: Sizable Memory Demand

    > Boost to DRAM Bit Demand: The implementation of Vera CPU is projected to increase total DRAM bit demand compared to 2025 levels. Specifically, a 2.5mn Vera CPU configuration is estimated to boost demand by 10%, while a 4mn configuration is estimated to boost it by 16%.

    > Increased Memory Capacity: The transition from "GB NVL72" to "VR NVL72" shows a significant jump in LPDDR5X capacity requirements, rising from 17 TB to 54 TB.

DRAM Bit Shipment and ASP YoY Growth

    > Decoupled Growth: The divergence between bit volume and Average Selling Price (ASP) shows that recent revenue gains are not driven by massive increases in raw shipment volume, but rather by surging prices for high-value products.

Rumor: China CCL giant Kingboard notified clients it plans to hike prices 15% on FR-4 and Prepreg, and on CEM-1/22F 10%, due to the rising cost of materials like E-glass fabric and copper foil, while copper foil processing fees will also rise, media report. Prepeg is a bonding material used in multilayer circuit board lamination (AI server boards layers are rising: Blackwell GPU boards 28-34-layers vs Vera Rubin 32-40 or more, versus a general purpose server board’s 8-12 layers).

Is NVIDIA Corporation $NVIDIA(NVDA.US) currently the biggest bargain in tech, or is the AI hype slowing down? Despite dropping about 18% from its May record high to the $192 range, NVIDIA’s financial engine is firing on all cylinders. The company recently reported a staggering 85% year-over-year revenue jump to $81.6 billion for Q1, powered by relentless data center demand. While critics worry about massive AI capital expenditure peaking, NVIDIA’s upcoming next-generation Vera Rubin architecture—boasting liquid cooling and up to 10x reductions in inference token costs—promises to cement its dominant market monopoly through 2027. Trading at an incredibly compressed forward P/E ratio of just 19x, the chip king is fundamentally disconnected from its lagging stock price.

I talked about Nvidia yesterday, and I will talk about it again today! It is a good buying opportunity and I have added stocks yesterday.
