French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed on Sunday plans to build a larger and more modern new aircraft carrier to replace the aging Charles de Gaulle and strengthen France's naval power. The French government stated that the new carrier will be operational by 2038, when the Charles de Gaulle is expected to be decommissioned.
