Traded ValueNovice's US Stock Learning Notes 86
Recently, I've been busy with my main job, and the stock market has indeed been too weak, so I haven't come to summarize. Recently, I only did one thing with stocks, which was calculating positions...
As of today, the Longbridge account is up 12%, the IB account is up 3%, the domestic Alipay fund is -0.36%, and the securities account is +0.03%. It's really hard to put into words.
Seriously calculated the dwindling balance. For Longbridge, focus on adding NVDA, and also consider adding more if Google falls below 270. Considering liquidating Amazn, leaving only four holdings. For the IB account, focus on adding BrKB, QQQ, and VOO, and consider liquidating LlY when the opportunity arises, also leaving only 4.
Reflecting on improper operations, there are two main points: First, improper buying and selling. Bought too early, patience wasn't enough. With small capital, it's still more suitable to trade on the right side, not afraid of missing out. Selling to reduce positions on rallies should be decisive. I kept wanting to trade the perfect stock and repeatedly missed the chance to reduce positions, which really shouldn't have happened. Second, positions were too scattered. With insufficient capital, two or three stocks per account are indeed enough. Future adjustments: if the market continues to fall sharply, max out the position, do some day trading when the opportunity arises. If that really doesn't work, trade time for space. They are all large-cap stocks anyway, so at worst, I'll just lie flat. If the market recovers, reduce positions in time. I've already calculated the subsequent price points and will place orders accordingly, hoping for a chance.
Both the domestic Alipay account and the securities account are preparing for regular investment. Watching the market during the day is too draining, and I really don't have the time. For the currently slightly losing active funds, I can either cut losses when the time is right or just lie flat. The amount is small, so it's not a big problem, and I won't add more. In the future, Alipay will regularly invest in the S&P, Nasdaq, and dividends; the securities account will regularly invest in dividends, healthcare broad-based funds, and gold. If the premium rates for the S&P and Nasdaq drop, I'll also consider buying some. When there's nothing to buy, I'll buy some short-term financing products, just to beat Yu'ebao.
Overall, my mindset is okay, also thanks to separate fund management. Agree that money for US stock and fund investment, treated as high-risk investment, can be left untouched for at least five years (how long it's left unused here corresponds to how long a reserve of low-risk cash flow for daily family life is maintained).
Then, for investment novices, the main job is always the first priority. Recently busy with work and AI. Have to say AI is indeed a good thing. The small tools recently built for the team using Claude are just too good. Now using Kimi to make a web dashboard. While the model is working, I can still watch the market. Simply excellent.
Time is almost up. Health is always the first priority. Sleep before 12, AI can help me continue working through the night.
