• Recently, Morda Bio and Yaosu Technology signed a strategic cooperation agreement to jointly establish an "AI+Organ-on-a-Chip" integrated R&D system, accelerating the development and preclinical testing of new drugs for autoimmune diseases (autoimmune diseases);
• The two parties plan to jointly build an "Autoimmune Disease AI+Organ-on-a-Chip" joint laboratory, aiming to create disease models that more closely resemble the real human body, allowing new drugs to more accurately verify mechanisms, evaluate efficacy, and test safety before entering human clinical trials, thereby reducing late-stage failure risks.
II. Impact on MP-5342 and the EPIC™ Platform
• One of the key focuses of this collaboration is to use Yaosu's EPIC™ Organ-on-a-Chip platform to support Morda's autoimmune disease pipeline, especially MP-5342 (an oral LDH inhibitor, PCC confirmed);
• The EPIC™ platform can more realistically simulate the immune microenvironment through models like humanized gut organ-on-a-chip, helping to verify the mechanism, efficacy, safety, and immunometabolic regulation effects of MP-5342, providing higher-quality preclinical data for IND submission and subsequent clinical trials.
III. Impact on XtalPi
• Filling platform gaps to form a more complete technological loop: XtalPi's strengths lie in AI computing + robotic automated synthesis (dry lab), Morda's strength is in immunometabolic target discovery; Yaosu brings the EPIC™ Organ-on-a-Chip + 3D wet lab AI. Combining the three can link "computational design → robotic synthesis → organ-on-a-chip validation," significantly improving the predictive accuracy of drug discovery and clinical translation success rates;
• Strengthening the "AI+Automation+Organ-on-a-Chip" next-generation drug R&D infrastructure: XtalPi is building an intelligent R&D ecosystem covering the entire chain. This collaboration helps extend XtalPi's platform capabilities from "early discovery" to "preclinical validation," increasing the platform's technological moat and external empowerment value;
• Medium-to-long-term value enhancement: Benefits XtalPi through equity appreciation (Morda+Yaosu), platform service fees, future milestones/royalties, and the ecosystem narrative to attract more capital and partners. However, in the short term, the focus remains on technological synergy and data accumulation, not yet bringing significant direct cash monetization.
Thoughts: This is another implementation of XtalPi's "incubation+investment+synergy" ecosystem strategy. The direction remains as expected, helping to solidify its leading position in AI-driven drug R&D. However, both are in early stages and still quite far from commercialization.
