Midnight Ninja$QQQ 260707 708 Put(QQQ260707P708000.US)$Invesco QQQ Trust(QQQ.US)
Take profits, take profits. Haven't been thinking much about the big picture lately. If I sold too early, so be it.
This QQQ trade gets an 8.3/10, much better than the last one.
P&L
Buy: 0.86 * 2 contracts = $172
Sell: 1.58 * 2 contracts = $316
Net Profit: (1.58 - 0.86) * 100 * 2 = +$144
Return: approx. +83.7%
Entry: 8/10
This entry was cleaner than before. On the 5m chart, QQQ failed to bounce from the 715-716 zone and then broke below 714.18, which was a clear breakdown. Your put purchase was following the trend, not just guessing.
Position Management: 8/10
Good that you didn't average down. Holding the 2 contracts through the drop was the right move. For 0DTE, the most important thing is to take the money quickly once the direction plays out.
Exit: 8.5/10
Selling at 1.58 was reasonable, almost a double, and there was immediate support around 710.8-711. Harvesting before hitting support was the correct action.
Runner Qualification: A little, but not mandatory.
This trade had weak runner potential because the 5m move was a follow-through sell-off after breaking the platform.
However, support was too close, and you only had 2 contracts. The optimal approach could have been:
- Sell 1 contract to lock in profit
- Keep 1 contract to see if 710.8/710 breaks
- If it bounces back above 714.2, exit the runner immediately
But selling all was perfectly fine. For 0DTE, +83% is already excellent harvesting, no regrets should be had.
Conclusion
This was a standard good trade:
- Direction: Right
- Entry Point: Right
- Position Size: Reasonable
- Exit: Decisive
- No averaging down: Bonus point
If focusing only on QQQ today, this trade was enough. Doing more later would easily risk giving back that +$144.
