WTI is hovering around $79.6 per barrel, $ExxonMobil(XOM.US) is slightly up, and $Occidental Petroleum(OXY.US) is basically flat.

With oil prices lacking direction, oil stocks are just going through the motions; news of US-Iran negotiations has shrunk the geopolitical premium, but the $80 mark remains unbroken.

The real variables ahead are the end-of-month OPEC+ meeting and capital expenditure guidance during earnings season. While sideways-moving oil stocks are indeed boring, the dividends are right there—would you choose to be smart and stay bored at this level, or chase the excitement elsewhere?
