The S&P 500 ETF barely moved, while the Hang Seng Tech ETF dropped by four to five points.

While both involve buying indices, the US market side seemed like nothing happened, whereas the Hong Kong tech sector took a direct hit from a large bearish candle—semiconductors and AI hardware sold off heavily, slamming into the HSTECH constituents.

The divergence among index investors lies here: is this temperature difference a catch-up drop risk for Hong Kong stocks, or a golden pit for HSTECH? Dollar-cost averaging (DCA) investors will feel it gets better as it drops, while swing traders are already calculating their stop-loss levels.
