Neutron rocket's 'hippo mouth' design. The flat satellite below is the Flatellite, specifically developed for the Space Force. Flatellite represents a new generation of flat satellite design optimized for large-scale constellation deployment. These satellites will be equipped with space-based sensors and low-latency, high-bandwidth communication links. Doesn't that sound familiar? Isn't it similar to Starlink? Rocket Lab is not only responsible for the R&D, manufacturing, launch, and deployment of Flatellite satellites but also for their operation, providing data and target trajectory information to the U.S. Space Force. Furthermore, since these satellites are launched by the Neutron rocket, which has not yet officially entered commercial service, it implies that the U.S. Space Force has already incorporated the Neutron into its actual mission planning. This holds significant importance for Rocket Lab's future orders, reputation, and commercialization.
