Xpeng elevates AI expert to bigger role in latest restructuring

Xpeng has restructured its organization by merging its autonomous driving and intelligent cockpit centers into a new general intelligence center, led by AI expert Liu Xianming. This move aims to enhance the company's focus on AI, positioning Xpeng as a leader in automotive intelligence. The new center will support various applications, including smart driving and robotics, and centralize AI resources to improve efficiency. XPeng Inc. reported delivering 20,011 vehicles in January 2026, contributing to a reduction of over 300,000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions. The XPENG P7+ was launched in 36 countries, debuting in Europe at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show.
