Just starting to build my AMD position and I believe AMD will benefit from the run into the following 2-3 years as it continues to not only build GPUs but CPUs as well, but mainly besides having really strong fundamental growth, it has stayed one of, if not the strongest semi name technically when the pullback happened. So I am looking to capitalize on gains on the next leg up, but capping my downside in case another pullback might happen.

Fundamentally, AMD is also in a good place. Her strength lies in inference and that is exactly where the next phase of this AI revolution is heading towards.

Shares of Super Micro Computer rose after the server manufacturer's fourth-quarter results beat analysts' forecasts. SMCI said it expects revenue in its fiscal first quarter to reach between $14.5 billion and $15.5 billion, surpassing mid-point consensus of $11.8 billion. It comes as the group sees its server solutions optimized for artificial intelligence fuelling future revenue as the build-out of data centers accelerates. "Super Micro continues to be one of the leading players in the AI server market with next-generation GPUs and broader technical capabilities encompassing areas like liquid cooling, now spanning up to modular AI infrastructure via DCBBS [data center building block solutions]," analysts led by Joseph Cardoso, wrote in a note on Wednesday. AMD’s latest results showed strong momentum: Q2 2026 revenue reached about $11.5B, up 50% year over year, while Data Center revenue surged 107% to $6.7B. Management also guided Q3 revenue to roughly $13B, above the roughly $12.5B Wall Street expectation. (Reuters)
The bigger question is valuation. At around $474/share, AMD is already priced for significant future growth, so simply beating estimates may not be enough—the company needs to keep delivering strong AI and data-center growth.
Bull case: AI accelerator demand, EPYC server growth, and continued market-share gains could drive substantial earnings growth.
Risk: Competition, margins, export restrictions, and a high valuation leave less room for disappointment.
Bottom line: AMD’s fundamentals look strong, but at this valuation, execution matters enormously. It’s a stock I’d be watching closely rather than chasing blindly.

TSM's July revenue rose 44% which is way ahead of their own 40% full year guidance. TSM remain the key to many other companies like Nvidia, AMD, and now more recently even companies trying to turn self sufficient like Amazon & Google are also turning to TSM for orders. In my opinion, there is definitely still room to grow for TSM.
