$Li Auto(LI.US)'s most important product in the next few years is not a car but a more adaptable vehicle platform. As competition among leading brands increasingly focuses on sales channels, the product matrix becomes particularly crucial. Just making SUVs won't work, just focusing on one type of powertrain won't work, and just targeting the family market still won't work. If they don't figure this out, they'll keep getting beaten, especially by Huawei's matrix strategy. Why do they need IPD? Actually, they've never really understood it or used it correctly, otherwise they wouldn't be in this predicament.
