    Shortages continue for TSMC’s top production processes, 3nm and 2nm, and CoWoS advanced packaging, media report, mostly locked up by Nvidia and Apple. Amazon AWS has won more 3nm capacity recently, while MediaTek continues to seek more 2nm/3nm capacity and CoWoS-S/L packaging for smartphone chips and Google TPUs.

    MediaTek is said to be on the short end of capacity allocation from TSMC due to Google’s TPU v9, which will split packaging orders between TSMC's CoWoS-L and Intel's EMIB-T.

    The MediaTek-assisted 3nm TPU v8t is to enter mass production in the 4th quarter and scale up further in 2027

    AWS continues to scale up orders for next-gen chips, boosted by partnerships with Alchip, Marvell, Qualcomm.

    Apple is now TSMC’s chief 2nm customer, for A20 Pro chips used in premium iPhones. Nvidia is the primary 3nm client.

    TSMC’s 2nm capacity will hit 100,000 wafers-per-month (wpm) by late October, with 50,000 each at Fab 20 in Hsinchu and Fab 22 in Kaohsiung.

    3nm capacity will reach 185,000wpm by late October.

    Overflow orders for advanced packaging are mostly expected to go to SiliconWare Precision, part of the ASE Group $Taiwan Semiconductor(TSM.US) $Alphabet(GOOGL.US) $Amazon(AMZN.US) $NVIDIA(NVDA.US) $Apple(AAPL.US) $Advanced Semiconductor Engineering(ASX.US)

    Context

    Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN) is transforming from an e-commerce giant into a high-margin AI and cloud infrastructure powerhouse .

    - AWS Acceleration: Amazon Web Services (AWS) drives the thesis, with enterprise AI adoption fueling surging revenues. Crucially, cloud revenue growth is now outpacing heavy AI capital expenditures, unlocking massive free cash flow.

    - The Ad Engine: Amazon’s high-margin digital advertising business acts as a silent margin multiplier, offsetting the lower-margin retail divisions.

    - Technical Setup: The stock is consolidating in a wide monthly range (~$249–$267). While Wall Street remains heavily bullish, this sideways price action offers an accumulation window.

    My trade

    Strategy: A 70/30 Long Equity and Options Overlay to build a position during consolidation. Deploy 70% of capital into core equity at the current midpoint (~$255). Allocate 30% of capital to sell Cash-Secured Puts at a $248 strike, targeting strong structural support at the bottom of the range.

    Takeaway

    The Valuation Trap: Evaluating Amazon on a simple consolidated P/E ratio is a mistake. A Sum-of-the-Parts (SOTP) model reveals its true value: separating the premium cloud and high-margin ad businesses from legacy retail shows a stock that is deeply undervalued relative to its forward cash generation.

    Bottom Line: Accumulating AMZN during sideways consolidation remains a high-conviction play as its operational efficiency flywheel gains momentum.

    A "bombshell" just dropped as Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, backed by leaders like Sam Altman and Elon Musk, called for the deliberate slowdown ("pacing" but not halting) in launching next-generation frontier AI models. This is supposed to give safety testing, evaluation frameworks, and alignment research enough time to keep pace as AI systems move toward autonomous capability thresholds.

    As chipmakers serve as the primary proxy bet on AI expansion, the call to "pump the brakes" created an immediate sentiment and valuation shock:

    * Sell-Off & Support Levels: $NVIDIA(NVDA.US) shares experienced an immediate pullback of ~3.5% to 8%, testing near-term support levels around $210–$212.

    * Capex Growth Expectations: Nvidia’s valuation relies heavily on cloud hyperscalers (Microsoft, Meta, Google, Amazon) making continuous multi-billion-dollar investments in GPU clusters. "Pacing" means slower model iterations, signalling potential delays or moderation in near-term hardware orders.

    But I think this is an expectations recalibration rather than a fundamental demand collapse, since enterprise inference workloads and current model deployments should still remain active.

    As such, I'm holding on to my $NVIDIA(NVDA.US)shares and will add when it hits by accumulation level.

    Morgan Stanley has CapEx of CSPs ~12% in 2028, with spending on AI semiconductors expected to increase even more.

    > CoWoS/CoPoS/EMIB-T capacity is estimated to grow by 50% in 2028, while infrastructure spending (such as factories and AI data centers) will remain flat, and memory prices will grow moderately in 2028.

    > TSMC's CoWoS capacity will expand from 130,000 wafers per month in 2026, 200,000 wafers per month in 2027, to 260,000 wafers per month in 2028.

    > MI500 series (codename Arcadia) is expected to enter small-scale production by the end of 2027. Production capacity for both the MI455 and MI450 is likely to reach approximately 500,000–650,000 units.

    > TSMC's total CoWoS-L orders will increase by 200% year-on-year to 210,000 wafers in 2027.

    > TSMC's CoPoS capacity is projected to reach 50,000–100,000 wafers per month in 2028 and 100,000–200,000 wafers per month in 2029, but this will depend on the results of the trial production.

    > MS forecasts that TSMC's CoPoS capacity is projected to reach 50,000–100,000 wafers per month in 2028 and 100,000–200,000 wafers per month in 2029, but this will depend on the results of the trial production.

    The challenge near term is the debt financing until you get to Full Harvest Mode.

    We're close but more like 2028 max earnings gains after heavy investments continue into 2027.

    This Debt Offering with Yield + Credit Spread is more attractive than US Treasuries and will keep a floor on the Treasury rates elevated to stay competitive with Mag offering.

    No doubt yields will fall this week if the FED Raises Rates. But the floor is in to stay competitive with the Mags Debt offerings.

    Stocks can absorb all of this, it just might take a few weeks IMO.

    Several Magnificent Seven companies issued massive USD-denominated bond offerings to fund AI infrastructure and capital expenditures:

    * Meta Platforms: Issued a $25 billion multi-tranche bond deal featuring 30-year (2056) tranche bonds priced at a 6.30% coupon.

    * Amazon: Returned for multiple offerings, including a $25 billion mega-issuance with yield rates ranging from ~5.2% to 5.8% depending on the maturity (5-year to 30-year paper).

    * Alphabet (Google): Alongside its sterling century bond, Alphabet issued a bulk USD mega-deal with coupons set between 4.85% and 5.55% across 5- to 30-year maturities.

    * Apple: Tapped the USD market with smaller multi-tranche deals carrying coupons generally in the 4.50% to 5.15% range.

    Alphabet's last British pound bond offering in February 2026 was issued across multiple tranches, highlighted by an ultra-rare 100-year bond maturing in February 2126 with a 6.125% coupon.

    The full sterling offering included five tranches:

    * 3-year: 4.125% due 2029

    * 6-year: 4.625% due 2032

    * 15-year: 5.500% due 2041

    * 32-year: 5.875% due 2058

    * 100-year: 6.125% due 2126

    I expect short-term profit taking due to technical resistance and concerns about near-term pressure caused by heavy capital expenditures and data center investments to support rapid cloud expansion. Expect a volatile trading day for the stock as usual.
