TSMC will have four new 1.4nm fabs in mass production of 120,000 to 140,000 wafers-per-month (wpm) by the 2nd quarter of 2028 in the Central Taiwan Science Park near the city of Taichung, media report, assuming a price-per-wafer of US$35,000 each. Construction has sped up so that the 2nd fab can catch up with the 1st and be in mass production by end-2027. The 1st fab is set for trial production by April next year. Major clients are already reserving capacity, including Apple, Nvidia, AMD, Qualcomm, MediaTek and Broadcom. $Taiwan Semiconductor(TSM.US) $NVIDIA(NVDA.US) $Apple(AAPL.US) $Qualcomm(QCOM.US) $Broadcom(AVGO.US) #mediatek #semiconductors

Just floating out an idea to $Broadcom(AVGO.US):

If you lock up $SIVE laser supply for next few years since you need “more laser capacity”.

You could unintentionally cause bottlenecks across your main ASIC competitors:

Like $Marvell Tech(MRVL.US) (Celestial), AlChip, Mediatek, GUC (Ayar CPO), first gen deployments.

Where many also seem to be aligned with your best friend $NVIDIA(NVDA.US)…

Maybe it’s worth discussing spending spare change to lock up the remaining merchant laser supply?

    $iShares Semiconductor ETF(SOXX.US)

Context: With the recent decision by the US Fed to raise the interest rate, the US market is showing some signs of recovery after the recent correction. AI stocks and tech ETFs have shown some strength and creating an opportunity for longer term accumulation for the semiconductor sector.

My trade: I am continuing to hold on to SOXX ETF during this pullback. SOXX gives me diversified exposure across top chipmakers like Nvidia, Broadcom, and AMD, and minimizing single stock risk.

Takeaway: It pays off to continue to hold on to quality stocks and ETFs and ride through the volatility if we continue to have conviction on the stocks and ETFs that we hold.

Featured🛡️ Cybersecurity Stocks Surge — Can AI Security Become the Next Major Theme?

Yes, AI security has the ingredients of a major investment theme, but I would separate the theme from the short-term stock price. The key question is whether AI creates enough new security spending to...

    $Broadcom(AVGO.US)

    Context:

Today’s Fed decision caught my attention. Rates rose 25 bps to 3.75%–4.00%, and the more hawkish tone added pressure to growth and AI sentiment.

For AVGO, I understand the uncertainty. Higher rates can pressure valuations, while investors are also questioning whether AI infrastructure spending can continue.

What keeps me from reacting too quickly is that Broadcom’s fundamentals remain strong. Its latest AI semiconductor revenue grew 221% YoY, so I see a clear difference between changing sentiment and a changing business.

    My Trade:

I’m still holding AVGO. Macro conditions matter, but I don’t want one Fed decision to change a view built over a much longer time frame.

Instead, I’m watching what matters to the thesis: AI demand, customer spending, and whether Broadcom can keep turning that demand into sustainable growth.

    Takeaway:

Today reminded me that having a long-term view doesn’t mean ignoring Fed or market risk. It means knowing what should actually make me rethink the thesis.

For now, I’m trying to react less and observe more.

$Broadcom(AVGO.US)Broadcom started the market with a slower and more cautious tone today, and the share price has dipped slightly after recent selling pressure. The wider technology sector is also facing some uncertainty as investors watch interest rates and concerns around the pace of AI development. Broadcom’s AI-related business remains an important focus, so I’ll continue watching the market movement and the company’s latest developments closely. Hopefully, sentiment can stabilise and the share price can gradually recover.

Broadcom still falling and is currently down for the year despite solid revenue growth and slightly "below expectations" guidance, though I think it's more of inflated market expectations than Broadcom not delivering. I think this could be one worth to watch, especially if the broader market continues to fall even more during the September-October period, which is typically the weaker period of the year for stocks.

I am very disappointed with the Crypto Clarity Act outcome. I expect good news and…..the outcome is so disappointing. I do not understand why the senators blocked disagrees with the act.

Failed the 60-vote threshold 49–50 early this morning. It is ready a “Big setback” for US crypto rules.🥹🥹 no chance for BTC to reclaim 100k again by year end.😞

    Mizuho on Semis pullback: 'we see this as a buying opportunity with $Micron Tech(MU.US), $Lumentum(LITE.US), $Credo Tech(CRDO.US), $Sandisk(SNDK.US), $Broadcom(AVGO.US), $Dell Tech(DELL.US), and $Lam Research(LRCX.US) remaining well-positioned'.

"We look at the AI semis space after reports of Anthropic and OpenAI CEOs calling for AI development slowdown post Dario Amodei's essay, with the push for guardrails on frontier model adoption. Key points: 1) Anthropic and OpenAI seeking to potentially slow down AI development citing safety concerns, with pushback from US Chair David Sacks challenging their altruistic reasoning, 2) we believe imposing RSI limits combined with a lack of global AI consensus or coordination implies potential AI pacing ineffectiveness, as it risks ceding share to efficient Chinese competition (Ex-2) and, 3) Key to watch - No change to AI DC Capex/GW compute spend from AI labs and CSPs, while AI adoption, while early, remains positive for the AI Semis beneficiaries. With the SOX down ~6% this morning, we see this as a buying opportunity with MU, LITE, CRDO, SNDK, AVGO, DELL, and LRCX remaining well-positioned."
