$Oracle(ORCL.US)

Context:

Oracle jumped over 10% yesterday after outlining its long-term targets and cash flow plans, but pulled back today. Investors may be looking beyond AI growth to a bigger question: how much will it cost to build the infrastructure, and when will it pay off?

My Trade:

I am watching ORCL because the cloud infrastructure opportunity is real, but revenue growth alone isn't enough. Building capacity ahead of demand creates opportunities while putting pressure on cash flow and financing.

The key is whether Oracle can turn AI demand into sustainable cash generation without overstretching its balance sheet.

Takeaway:

I am looking beyond growth to the cost of achieving it. Strong demand matters, but execution and cash flow determine whether that growth creates lasting value.

$Oracle(ORCL.US) just jumped 12% after telling Wall Street its AI cash burn ends in 2028

$Oracle(ORCL.US) burned $23.7B of free cash flow last fiscal year, and analysts expect about $35B more this year

Now it's targeting positive free cash flow in the second half of fiscal 2028 and $30B+ in fiscal 2029

The Investor Day targets

Revenue of $225B+ in fiscal 2030, up from $67.4B in fiscal 2026, more than 35% growth a year

Non-GAAP operating margin above 40% and EPS of $21+

Capex peaks in fiscal 2027 and 2028, then steps down

New capital raises capped at $20B through fiscal 2030, split $10B equity and $10B debt

The stock is on pace for its best day since April, but it's still down about 25% in 2026 after AI debt fears crushed it

$Oracle(ORCL.US) became the market's AI debt barometer, so this cash flow path matters for the whole AI infrastructure trade. The catch is that it all rides on 10+ gigawatts of capacity coming online on time and customers like OpenAI actually paying up

$Oracle(ORCL.US)

Context: Concerns over artificial intelligence debt have recently eased following market volatility and the absence of expected bond announcements. Major tech companies like Alphabet and Amazon face upcoming quarterly earnings and capital expenditure updates that will test credit market sentiment. Despite elevated debt issuance and negative free cash flows, analysts emphasize that hyperscalers maintain strong underlying credit profiles and liquidity.

My Trade: I added during the dips to lower my average. At this point, I'm taking small gains to slowly bring back my cost.

Takeaway: This is still the long game, no shortcuts, just being patient and building on small wins. @Captain's Treasure

AI financing deal lifts tape

October 27, 2026

AI infrastructure financing and selective earnings drove a tech-led advance. The Nasdaq Composite gained 1.2% to 26,477.81, the S&P 500 rose 0.6% to 7,722.60, the Dow edged up less than 0.1% to 52,377.57, and the Russell 2000 advanced about 1.2% to 2,818.87. Breadth was positive but not uniformly so: advances outpaced declines roughly 1.6-to-1, yet many S&P constituents finished lower as gains concentrated in influential AI-related names.

The 10-year Treasury yield held near 4.99% (up ~1 bp). WTI crude eased toward $100.20 (down ~1.5%) and gold firmed. VIX slipped to about 17.5. The session occurred as the Fed began its two-day meeting, with markets pricing a hold after the prior hike and watching the path into year-end amid still-elevated inflation readings.

AI Capex Financing Becomes the Tape’s Primary Catalyst

The clearest group move came from the AI infrastructure complex. $Broadcom(AVGO.US) closed near $342, up roughly 4%, after Wall Street banks (Bank of America, Citigroup, Morgan Stanley) and Blackstone arranged a $63 billion financing package so Anthropic can acquire Broadcom chips and networking gear. The structure uses a special-purpose vehicle that buys the equipment and leases it to Anthropic; deliveries are expected to begin in 2027. Broadcom is providing residual-value support on a large portion of the senior financing rather than simply booking a pure product sale. The deal followed Anthropic’s S-1 filing and Hock Tan’s intervention to keep lenders committed amid higher rates and AI-spending concerns. Analysts and FinTwit commentary treated it as evidence that strategic capacity is still being locked in despite capital constraints, while also flagging the vendor-financing risk if demand or residual values disappoint. Semiconductor peers ($AMD(AMD.US), $NVIDIA(NVDA.US), memory names) participated, reinforcing the scarcity narrative around custom and high-end silicon.

Separately, $NVIDIA(NVDA.US) said it would invest $3 billion in Meta’s equity offering (part of Meta’s expanded ~$97.5 billion raise to fund AI infrastructure) and deepen collaboration on the Muse agent family, including greater deployment of Vera Rubin platforms. $AMD(AMD.US) also committed $1 billion. Meta’s shares declined on the day as the company itself carries the capex bill; the chip suppliers were bid. Circular financing commentary appeared on X, noting chipmakers helping finance major customers while still booking the related hardware demand. The combination of the Anthropic package and the Meta commitment kept the AI hardware bid intact heading into heavyweight tech earnings later in the week.

Earnings: Mixed Results, Clear Divergences

$Boeing(BA.US) fell about 10% after reporting a core loss of $0.34 per share versus expectations near a $0.21 loss. Revenue rose ~4% year-over-year to roughly $24.2 billion, operating cash flow was $1.5 billion, free cash flow positive, and total backlog reached a record $745 billion. The 737-7 and 737-10 received certification progress and Boeing was selected for the Navy’s F/A-XX program, but investors focused on the wider-than-expected loss, commercial mix, and production ramp timelines. The stock’s decline weighed on the Dow even as the broader tape advanced.

$SoFi Tech(SOFI.US) rose roughly 13% on record adjusted net revenue of $1.4 billion (+44% YoY), adjusted EPS of $0.18, record EBITDA margins, 1.2 million net new members (to 17.1 million), and a raised full-year outlook plus an initial 2027 framework calling for further growth. The print reinforced the fintech consumer-lending and platform narrative even with rates elevated.

$Royal Caribbean Cruises(RCL.US) advanced on an adjusted EPS beat ($6.57 vs. ~$6.38), solid close-in demand, occupancy above 112%, and a raised full-year adjusted EPS guide to $17.85–$17.95. Management highlighted strong 2027 booking trends. Cruise peers also gained. Other reports (UPS raised guidance; several others mixed) contributed to the selective tape.

Macro and Positioning Context

Oil’s pullback provided modest relief after recent strength tied to geopolitical tensions. Yields stayed elevated near 5% but did not reaccelerate sharply. Consumer confidence rebounded and durable-goods data were noted constructively. The market’s ability to absorb the AI financing headlines and earnings dispersion while the Fed sits in meeting suggests positioning remains constructive on the AI theme even as rate-sensitive pockets (real estate, some housing-related names) stay cautious. Equal-weight participation was better than the narrowest sessions but still lagged the mega-cap AI names.

Notable Gainers / Decliners

$Broadcom(AVGO.US) — ~+4%. Anthropic $63B financing structure and residual-value support.

$SoFi Tech(SOFI.US) — ~+13%. Strong revenue, member growth, raised 2026/2027 outlook.

$Royal Caribbean Cruises(RCL.US) — mid-to-high single digits. EPS beat and raised full-year guidance.

$Boeing(BA.US) — ~-10%. Wider-than-expected core loss despite better cash flow and record backlog.

Communication Services lagged largely on Meta’s financing announcement and broader sector dynamics; Healthcare and Technology led.

What Matters Next

The Fed decision and press conference tomorrow (widely expected hold) will set the near-term rate tone. Alphabet and Microsoft report after the close Wednesday; their cloud/AI commentary will be tested against the financing and capacity themes that moved the tape today. For $Broadcom(AVGO.US) , watch whether residual-value support details or further customer capacity announcements change the risk perception. Storage and networking names remain sensitive to allocation and pricing checks. Rate-sensitive groups stay on watch if the long end re-steepens. Earnings season continues to filter which AI-related narratives convert into near-term estimates versus longer-dated capacity stories.

$VG S&P 500(VOO.US)

The AI trade is gaining ground again, with reports of Anthropic preparing for an IPO adding to optimism and lifting the S&P 500, and of course, VOO. The listing puts the spotlight back on AI’s commercial potential, although investors still need to see whether massive spending can translate into sustainable returns. I’m continuing to build my position for the long term, while watching this week’s mega-cap earnings for confirmation that the AI rally has more room to run.

$Oracle(ORCL.US)

Context: Recent debates in the AI industry surrounding the pace of advanced model development have intensified, putting Oracle under renewed market scrutiny. As Oracle aggressively expands its cloud infrastructure and maintains close business ties with AI clients such as OpenAI, the market is growing concerned that if frontier AI labs slow down model R&D or cut related spending, it could further impact demand for cloud computing and AI compute power. Oracle is transitioning from a traditional database software company into an AI infrastructure provider, and OpenAI is one of the most critical customers in this transformation. The closer their relationship becomes, the more pronounced the impact of changes in OpenAI's fundraising, model development, and compute spending will be on Oracle's valuation.

My Trade: I have been focusing on other stocks and hasn't touch Oracle for quite a long time now since my cost is so high. However, I am now interested to lower my average, waiting for Oracle to drop to $120+

Takeaway: Oracle's long term plan is still intact, and the structure is looking good as they start to accelerate towards clearing their debt. However, their close ties with OpenAI can be a double-edged sword; as seen a few days ago when Sam Altman calls for slower AI development, Oracle's share price also dropped along with news of them cutting workers. @Captain's Treasure

$Oracle(ORCL.US)

Context:

I started a position in ORCL yesterday after watching the recent pullback.

What caught my attention is the contrast between the stock price and the business momentum. Oracle just reported 30% revenue growth, while its cloud infrastructure business grew 121%. At the same time, the market is clearly still uncomfortable with how much capital is being committed to AI infrastructure and what that means for cash flow.

My Trade:

I decided to start with a position rather than trying to guess where the exact bottom is. For me, this trade is less about catching a quick rebound and more about watching whether Oracle can actually turn its huge AI and cloud commitments into sustainable growth.

Takeaway:

Strong growth numbers alone don’t remove execution risk. Sometimes the more interesting setups are when the business looks strong but the market is still questioning the cost of getting there.

For me, $Oracle(ORCL.US) is a great example of macro versus fundamentals. ORCL dropped over 5% on hot PPI and rising yields, but then jumped after earnings showed 121% cloud infrastructure growth and RPO of $664B. AI demand clearly remains strong.

I am still watching the 10-year yield closely as it approaches 5%. I remain constructive on AI, but I prefer accumulating quality names on pullbacks rather than chasing strength.

$Taiwan Semiconductor(TSM.US)’s 53.3% revenue growth also reinforces my view that AI demand remains strong. Now I am watching CPI and the Fed closely, while keeping some cash ready for opportunities.

Oracle’s post-market surge underscores that fundamental operational strength trumps macro headwinds. A massive +121% jump in cloud infrastructure revenue and a record $664B backlog demonstrate explosive enterprise AI demand. TheRaccoonAnalysis

Oracle’s sharp reversal highlights the market’s sensitivity to fundamentals after the PPI-driven selloff. Cloud infrastructure growth of 121% and RPO reaching $664 billion indicate strong demand visibility, particularly from AI-related workloads. The raised FY2027 revenue outlook of at least $90 billion further supports expectations of sustained growth. However, the after-hours rally also reflects elevated expectations, leaving execution, capacity expansion and AI spending durability as key factors. Investors may therefore weigh Oracle’s improving growth trajectory against valuation risk and the possibility of greater volatility as expectations become increasingly demanding.
