🥇📉 I Feel Gold Is Oversold — So I Bought Some IAU! 💰

@Captain's Watch 💛 I feel gold may have been oversold after the recent pullback, so I decided to buy some IAU (iShares Gold Trust). Instead of chasing gold when prices are running hot, I prefer to look for opportunities when the market starts selling off.

📊 My thinking is simple: a short-term correction doesn’t necessarily mean the long-term gold story is broken. If gold stabilises and buyers return, there could be an opportunity for a rebound.

🎯 Of course, I’m not going all in. Gold can fall further, especially if interest rates and the US dollar move higher. That’s why I’m treating this as a potential trading opportunity rather than assuming I’ve caught the bottom

💕 My prediction is that headline CPI will come in at 3.5% or lower, while core CPI stays around 2.4%. For monthly core CPI, I’m expecting +0.2%. Inflation may be cooling, but some prices are still stubborn! 📊

💰 If CPI comes in cooler, the S&P 500 and gold could get a boost as investors anticipate a less hawkish Fed. But if inflation surprises to the upside, bond yields could rise and stocks may face pressure. 📉

🇺🇸 I think the US market will be heavily influenced by bank earnings from JPMorgan, Citi, Goldman Sachs and Wells Fargo. I will watch their net interest income, loan growth, credit losses and management guidance to understand whether the economy remains resilient.

🍎 Apple’s “Welcome Home” event could also influence sentiment around technology and consumer products.
