$Alibaba(BABA.US) Cloud signed a deal with Manulife Hong Kong to accelerate and scale AI innovation. They will explore a joint AI hub to develop next-generation AI applications, focusing on insurance/financial services use cases for better customer experience, operations, and growth. This combines Manulife’s domain expertise with Alibaba Cloud’s AI infrastructure and models.

The Manulife partnership directly addresses concerns about AI investments not yet translating into visible revenue or adoption. It demonstrates demand for Alibaba Cloud’s capabilities in enterprise/regulated sectors (insurance). This helped drive the recent surge and supports sentiment after earlier volatility including the late-May Chinese ADR pressure. Options and trading activity have been mixed but responsive to AI news.

Analysts continue to view the heavy spending as building a defensible AI/cloud position (domestic chips, models like Qwen upgrades, now real partnerships). Cloud external growth (especially AI-related) remains the key metric. High tech companies and their's supply chains continuously dominate the market, which are only key drivers, and the money flows toward them are over concentrated. Things will turn around if their earnings do not keep up with the investment commitments.

Emotions are a funny thing. It makes people buy things they don’t need or things that just doesn’t make sense in value. When an item is selling much cheaper, no one wants its coz its not popular. When price goes up, suddenly they want it? Even if price is much more than just a few days ago? Lol…

Spot gold rose 0.5% to $4,536.84 per ounce, staying near historical highs amid persistent geopolitical uncertainty.

Gold remains a safe-haven asset and should occupy a certain proportion in one's portfolio.

Wow. So much bullishness and euphoria all around in an overpriced, overvalued market. People are funny. History lessons are meant for them to learn from. Yet they run headlong into the same things that people in the past do.

I will just sit back and stay safe. The market is a device transferring wealth from the impatient to the patient. There will come a time when no one wants to buy. Now everyone is buying!
