The elephant in the room is the US mid-term elections on 3 Nov. As the Red party is still reeling from inflation-related voter disgruntlement and other personality-related issues, the Blue party might wrestle one or both chambers from the Red. How would that impact the US market?

SG banks fell by as much as 2% to 3% today as lower expected wealth management fees could lower banks' profits in the upcoming months. However, I personally think the drop is an overreaction

Most chips companies are slightly up today but I think the short term volatility and selling pressure still lingers. Let's see how the market reacts after more earnings and Midterms

The midterm elections will be something the market will want to get out of the way. Seasonally, it has been good for the markets.

UOB slipped 1.7% today, in line with broader weakness across Singapore banks as the STI fell 1.4%. Investors appear cautious ahead of the US midterms and this week’s bank earnings, with concerns around softer wealth fees and margin pressures also weighing on sentiment. I’m not reading too much into the pullback just yet. Will be watching Q3 results for signs of an earnings recovery as well as the guidance - especially with US rates remaining elevated.

🇺🇸📌 I think later will be little bull after last Friday bear calling mr buyer’s market; but don’t be too happy cos tomorrow will again be falling down liked I said that London bridge is falling down till let say mid term election; to gauge to see its stability if not mean worst cos heavy debt issues cannot be easily resolved, that is why it is rotating and roller speed coaster only influence home market as well; in general the economy is not stable as yet!! But we have to believe it will improve take longer time than before! So I shall say bite your bullets take what on the table or leave them on the table as changes is for good than for the worst!
