📊 Weekly Market Recap: Interest Rates Repriced, AI Enters the "Show Me" Phase

The core logic of the market this week continues to revolve around the Fed, the yield curve on US Treasuries, gold, crypto assets, and AI infrastructure. 1. The Fed: The focus isn't hawkish vs. dovish, but expectation management. I believe this speech is more about resetting market expectations. Short-end rates reflect future policy expectations, while 10-, 20-, and 30-year Treasury yields better capture the market's view on long-term inflation, fiscal health, and confidence in USD assets. Therefore, a rise in short-end rates doesn't necessarily signal a loss of control; what truly matters is whether the long end can hold steady. If it's just a short-end adjustment...

Week 6 Review: The Ultimate Sweet Spot of Execution.

#Portfolio Health Check

Premium Extracted, Cash Secured: Two of my short put options contracts officially crossed the finish line and expired this week. Watching that premium melt to zero and securely land into my account as pure cash flow? Absolutely beautiful. I have one more contract running with about 10 days left. My game plan remains defensive: I am halting new option entries until the market gives us a deep, high-probability macro correction.

Discipline beats impulse every single time. This week, I saw the exact technical pullbacks that match my strict trading parameters, allowing me to add small tactical positions to MSFT and GOOGL. The best part? The moment the orders went through, the price caught an immediate upward momentum. Buying the structural floor right before a bounce is the ultimate confirmation of patient trend following.

🌟 Stick to your rules, wait for the market to come to your price, and let time decay work for you. When you master patience, trading stops being stressful and becomes incredibly rewarding.

[Week 6–Portfolio Health Check: From Stock Picking to System Thinking]

1️⃣ What Changed Since Week 1

At the start, my portfolio was mostly built around finding strong individual companies. After six weeks, the thinking has become more connected.

I started to see that the better question is not just “which stock can go up?”, but “where is the money actually flowing?” AI demand does not stop at chips. It pulls in power, cooling, storage, networking and hardware. That is why my portfolio gradually moved from single-name conviction into a fuller infrastructure chain.

2️⃣ Earnings Read

NVDA’s earnings confirmed that data center demand remains strong. My direct NVDA position is small, but its results matter because NVDA is a key signal for the whole AI infrastructure cycle.

That is why WDC and SOXL moved strongly, while VRT, TTMI and POWL still matter even when their short-term P/L looks different.

3️⃣ Portfolio Reaction

WDC is now close to +90%, SOXL is above +40%, and FIX remains the largest anchor despite pulling back from earlier highs.

VRT and POWL are currently red, but I do not see that as automatically wrong. For these names, I care more about backlog, margins, ROIC direction and whether demand is still improving. A short-term red number is not the same as a broken thesis.

4️⃣ My Read Now

The biggest lesson from this challenge is that concentration is not always the enemy. Unclear thinking is.

This portfolio is concentrated, but it has a reason. Each position is meant to test one part of the AI infrastructure chain. If the chain keeps converting demand into cash flow and better returns on capital, I want to stay patient.

I would rather own fewer things that I understand than hold many names just to look diversified.

[Week 5] Portfolio Health Check: Riding the Volatility Wave 🌊

1️⃣ Current Holdings

I continued to adjust my weightings and leaning further into my high-conviction plays. My sector distributions are:

🟢 Automobiles: 30.48% (BYD)

🟢 Interactive Media & Services: 22.82% (Tencent & Bilibili)

🟢 Broadline Retail: 23.64% (Alibaba & JD)

🟢 Tech Hardware & Peripherals: 17.11% (Xiaomi)

BYD is my largest single position at over 30% now. This reflect my increased commitment to the EV leader despite recent market swings.

2️⃣ Earnings Watch

The heavy lifting of earnings season is almost done! Xiao Mi will be the last one for me to watch.

This is the big one left, 26 May 2026. I am eager to see how the market reacts to their latest smartphone shipments and EV progress. Bilibili just reported and I am disappointed with the share price reaction😣.

3️⃣ Portfolio Reaction

It has been a tough week as the sea of red returns. Most of my holdings are facing a pullback:

• Alibaba (+14.54%) and JD.com (+5.43%) remain in the green.

• Bilibili (-17.04%) and BYD (-9.84%) took the hardest hits this week.

• Tencent (-4.70%) and Xiaomi (-5.57%) are also under pressure.

Overall, the portfolio is being tested by market-wide volatility but my core “Retail” anchors are keeping the ship afloat.😁

4️⃣ Next Plan

Patience is key. I added BYD and Bilibili this week, “averaging down” on positions. I strongly believe in for the long haul.

My next move is to hold steady through the Xiaomi earnings. I am pausing any further buying for now to maintain a healthy cash buffer in case the market dip deepens.🤣

5️⃣ Risk Check

Concentration in BYD has crept back up to 30.48%, which I need to monitor closely.

My top two holdings (BYD & Tencent) now make up 51.46% of the portfolio. I admitted that I am better diversified than in Week 3, the heavy HK/China tech exposure remains my primary risk.

Staying disciplined and looking past the short-term noise! 😌

[Week 2] Portfolio Health Check: Staying Focused on Tech & EV 🚗

1️⃣ Current Holdings

I am sticking with my core players. My largest convictions are in JD.com (43.98%) and BYD (24.22%). I also hold positions in Xiaomi and Alibaba, with a small stake in Bilibili via the US market.

2️⃣ Earnings Watch

The month of May is crucial! I am closely watching the upcoming earnings announcements:

• JD.com: 12 May 2026

• Alibaba: 13 May 2026

• Xiaomi: 26 May 2026

Their financial results and forward guidance will be key indicators for my next moves.

3️⃣ Portfolio Reaction

This week I added 50 JD and 200 Xiaomi shares into my portfolio. My current overall portfolio is slightly in the red this week.

Alibaba remains my star, holding strong at +13.64%. However, Xiaomi has dipped 8.65% along with Bilibili and BYD have also seen minor pullbacks. Thankfully, Alibaba’s gains are helping to stabilise the total balance.

4️⃣ Next Plan

I am not selling anything yet. My focus is on identifying high-quality companies at attractive prices. If Alibaba or BYD hit my target entry levels, I will look to increase my stake. Meanwhile, I also monitoring Lululemon, Netflix and BNMR for compelling entry points.

5️⃣ Risk Check

My biggest risk now ? Too many eggs in one basket! 😂 Two stocks represent 68% of my capital and my exposure is almost entirely in Hong Kong. I am looking at for future diversification.

I acknowledge the concentration risk but remain confident in my thesis. Chinese stocks are absolutely investible if you enter at the right price and the right mindset.😉

[ Week 1 ] Portfolio Health Check: Tech & EV Focus 🚀

1️⃣ Current Holdings

My portfolio is dominated by Chinese giants, led by JD-SW (41.1%) and BYD (23.4%). Other key positions include Xiaomi, Alibaba and small bit of Bilibili in the US market.

2️⃣ Earnings Watch

I am keeping a close eye on coming BYD earnings announcement. I also want to see Alibaba and JD.com latest profit reports. Lastly, updates on Xiaomi’s new electric car business that helps their stock price grow.

3️⃣ Portfolio Reaction

Performance is mixed but positive. Alibaba (+18.8%) and JD (+2.65%) are the primary anchors while Xiaomi,BYD and Bilibili are seeing slight pullbacks, dragging on short-term growth.

4️⃣ Next Plan

Sold BNMR yesterday to lock in 15% profit. I may buy back again when BMNR is back below USD19.

I may also consider adding more exposure to Alibaba or BYD. I view these tech counters as attractive undervalued technology stocks. No sell plan😉

5️⃣ Risk Check

64.5% of my wealth sits in just two stocks. Being 99% weighted in HK-listed tech makes me vulnerable to regional regulatory shifts but I remain confident in world 2nd largest economy, China 🇨🇳.

Invest with my conviction.
