Trump clearly is doing insider trading. Just a day before he make an overhaul to his Liberation Day Tariff, there were 327 stock purchases on Apr 8, 2025 and the next day, S&P jumped 9.5%, the best day ever. He bought a lot of shares in Nvidia, Apple, Amazon and Microsoft. On Apr 9, Apple itself jumped 15%, again the best day ever since listed. When accused of insider trading, White House spokeswoman claimed the president is a highly successful businessman but there is no conflict of interest as other people is managing his money. Together with stocks, crypto and other revenue, Trump collected US$2.24 billion. For the same reason that Trump is a successful businessman it is unthinkable that he is not finding every opportunity to profit from his position. Do you have a trading strategist idol?  Cathie Wood is not stranger  to the investment community.  Her Ark-invest ETF has staged a convincing comeback in the last 24 months although still not as good as 2021, her best ever.  She is also a discipline trader who will sell a stock even when it is rising if she thinks it is already over value.  She sold AMD in months of Apr, May and June amounting to >Usd250 mill and then poured that money into Space X for a staggering Usd440 mil and also Usd64 mil into Nvidia.  Hope her move is right!

Microsoft will need to prove their massive investments can bear fruit!

If you look at Mag7 performance for the past 1 year, you would be forgiven for thinking that they belong to sunset industry, this is despite that the AI tech run is still running at full speed.  Top among them are Microsoft who lost around 33% from it peak, closely follow is Tesla with 32% dropped.  The hardware marker related to AI like Micron and Broadcom has performance that easily outdone any of the Mag7.  Core among the reasons lies in whether Microsoft (spend $146 - $190 billion), Amazon (spend $200 billion) and Alphabet (spend $175 - 185 billion) shopping spree in AI infrastructure can generate any tangible return. Nvidia is the latest company to enter the fray of end user computer market. Qualcomm has enter the market again on 2024, their 1st was on 2012, so far their success were limited to more expensive and AI model. Nvidia is yet another attempt to break the duopoly of Intel and AMD. Nvidia is good at producing GPU, now it is time to see how it fares in producing CPU, dubbed the Superchip. Computer is no longer a luxury and is it just another must have item, the market is big but the competition is fierce too and profit margin does not look good. It's hard to predict the outcome of Nvidia's latest effort but for now the winner is the consumer who has another formidable choice!$NVIDIA(NVDA.US)

SpaceX is the largest IPO in history.  But it is not the largest in terms of order book  SpaceX has accumulated usd100 bil but compared to some of the recent Chinese IPO, it is still small.  China chipmaker MetaX Integrated Circuits Shanghai Co's IPO in 2025 drew in usd444 bil!  Mixue, the popular tea and ice cream serving chain debuted in Hong Kong with usd230 bil.  Chinese investors can't be underestimated   for their ability to move the market.

Everyone has been captivated by SpaceX last week the largest IPO in history.  SpaceX has the unique position to claim as the dominant company that explores the vast potential of space by using reusable rockets and making a quick turnaround for consequence launch and even planning of building data centers in space.  Starlink is another business that SpaceX dominates.   But they are not without competition,  Amazon's Project Kuiper hopes to offer the same service as Starlink and Amazon's founder Jeff Bezos has started Blue Origin that is used by Nasa for the moon mission.  And for building a data center in space, it looks promising but will remain far fetched for now.

Sk Hynic and Samsung of Korea and Tsmc of Taiwan hold a special position where they are hard to be duplicated.  Tsmc itself held near to 70% global pure play foundry market.  Samsung and Sk Hynix together hold almost the same amount of hbm global market.  They are huge but not immune from competition.   Introducing Google's TurboQuant that reduces HBM requirement for AI and Huawei's Tau Law Chip that challenges TSMC dominant in semiconductor.  Please pick up some popcorn, sit back and watch the fight!

Trump big bully, I will top-up on some banking stock due to encouraging earnings

Broadcom is yet another victim of its success.  Despite beating the analyst number, the share still dropped drastically due to stagnant projection. Do you think that the share pulling back is a healthy correction or it is a sign of a bubble.  It dragged down Nvidia and other AI related stocks.  Another theory is the fund manager trying to pull out from AI and get into next week's blockbuster IPO of SpaceX.   Whatever is the narrative, I am keeping my discipline of investing only 30% of my asset in stock.
