$KUAISHOU-W(01024.HK) Q2 results were muted. While the print was broadly in line, core segments disappointed with ads missing. The numbers alone are unlikely to lift a valuation that has been under pressure.
The key is management's outlook for Keling's growth. This is especially important amid intensifying competition in video models, with peers rolling out new models that could add pressure.1) Keling delivered high growth as expected, but the sustainability of the next leg remains to be confirmed. $Baidu(BIDU.US) Q2 results remained a mixed bag. Overall, performance was underwhelming.

I’ve managed to bring my average down to 0.045, while market is now around 0.034. At this stage I’m not going to blindly chase every dip. With 5x leverage, timing matters a lot more because daily reset and compounding can work against the position if weakness continues.
That said, I’m still not giving up on the underlying thesis. Tencent remains a strong business across gaming, advertising, fintech and cloud, and I still see AI monetisation as another potential growth driver. The question for this trade is more about when sentiment turns, not just whether Tencent is a good company.
For now I’ll be patient and watch the underlying Tencent price closely before deciding whether to add again. This DLC has taught me one thing for sure: conviction is important, but with leverage, position sizing and patience are even more important. 😅
Still holding. Let’s see how this week goes. @Captain's Treasure
The quarterly earnings season has been in full swing over the past week. Despite similar performance, it's a world apart from July.
This week, the focus is on Thursday's FOMC meeting. We've noticed the 10-year US Treasury yield oscillating at high levels and could break out upward at any moment.
This is a risk factor.

The overall market is taking the inflation numbers in its stride and liking it. Price action leans bullish and the number of bears still being around and vocal gives it an even more bullish nuance.

I still like Yangzijiang Shipbuilding (SGX: BS6) fundamentally, but at today’s ~S$4.66 I would not chase it with a large purchase. The price has moved very quickly after the excellent 1H26 results. As of 10:51am today, it was around S$4.66, already close to its recent high.

Perhaps the most 'established' e-com platform domestically — $JD.com(JD.US) — reported Q2 2026 results on the evening of Aug 13. Overall, the print was steady if unspectacular.
On expectations, revenue and total profit slightly beat Bloomberg consensus. Versus some major brokers, results were in line to a touch below.
With domestic consumption weakening in Q2, topline turned negative YoY. Given already soft retail sales, this was well telegraphed and not a surprise.
Profit at the Mall segment declined YoY. Recall that last year profits were largely wiped out by the food-delivery price war...
US July PPI rose 4.7% year-over-year, falling below market expectations and slowing from June's 5.5%, while Core PPI declined to 4.2%. Combined with softening CPI data, the reports indicate cooling production-side and consumer inflationary pressures, largely driven by dropping energy and food prices. This lower than expected inflation data relieved market concerns regarding reaccelerating inflation and reduced near term Fed rate hike pressures.

I’ve been trading 5x DLCs for a while, and Tencent has probably given me one of my biggest lessons so far.
I entered Tencent 5x Long around 0.057. The position moved against me quite badly, and today I decided to DCA again at around 0.035. Not long after that, it dropped further to 0.034 😅
So this story doesn’t have a happy ending yet. I’m still in the trade.
And that’s exactly why it has taught me a lot about DLCs.
DCA on a leveraged product is very different from averaging down on a normal stock. A DLC resets its leverage daily, so when the underlying keeps moving against you, the combination of leverage, volatility and daily compounding can hurt much faster than expected.
My view on Tencent hasn’t changed yet, which is why I was willing to add. But I also know that having conviction doesn’t automatically mean my timing is correct. If the underlying keeps falling, 5x leverage will punish that mistake very quickly.
That experience is also why the new Gold & Silver DLCs caught my attention.
Gold and silver can move sharply around interest-rate expectations, USD movements, inflation and geopolitical events. Having both Long and Short DLCs gives traders a way to trade those moves in either direction.
But after Tencent, I definitely wouldn’t look at a 5x Gold DLC simply as “gold is bullish, so buy and hold.”
For me, the setup matters more now. I would rather wait for momentum and direction to become clearer, keep the position manageable, and be much more careful about averaging down. Silver probably requires even more discipline because its volatility can be much higher.
One lesson I’m learning the hard way:
Being right about the eventual direction is not enough with leverage. You also need to survive the journey there.
My Tencent trade is still testing that lesson right now. 😂
Interested to see whether Gold & Silver DLCs will be my next trade — hopefully with better timing this time. #DLC #Gold #Silver #SGX @Captain's Watch

0813 | Dolphin Research Focus: 🐬 Macro/Industry. 1) US Jul CPI rose 3.4% YoY vs. 3.5% prior, with core CPI at 2.5% YoY vs. 2.6%. MoM prints were in line with consensus, and shelter remained the primary driver of inflation.
Inflation cooled modestly, trimming the market-implied odds of a Sep hike and pulling UST yields lower. However, with core inflation still well above the 2% target, the Fed’s tightening bias remains, and near-term valuation pressure on growth stocks eased only at the margin.2) MSCI released its quarterly index review for Aug 2026. Results...The CPI came in as expected and some say milder. So that is a good thing for inflation I guess. The markets had a good lift out of it.
