$NVIDIA(NVDA.US)NVIDIA’s rebound barely had time to gain momentum before another headwind emerged. The recent surge in CDS spreads has raised fresh concerns about financing conditions and overall market risk, making investors less willing to chase high-valuation AI names.
More importantly, the market is beginning to question the ” self-reinforcing“ AI investment story. For a while, the narrative was that massive AI spending would generate even greater demand, creating a virtuous cycle. Now, investors are asking whether companies can keep increasing capex without clear evidence that the returns will justify it.
The fundamentals haven‘t suddenly collapsed, but the market is becoming much more demanding. In an environment where the cost of capital is rising and risk premiums are widening, even NVIDIA is finding it harder to sustain momentum solely on future expectations.
