You can submit an account closure request directly from the Longbridge App. Before you begin, please ensure your account meets all the conditions below. Once submitted, the closure process typically takes 1–3 business days.
⚠ Once your account is closed, you will no longer have access to it. Certain personal and account records will continue to be retained as required by applicable law and regulatory recordkeeping requirements. Please proceed with caution.
Prerequisites
All conditions must be met before you can submit a closure request:
-
Close all positions and zero out your account — Sell all holdings and withdraw or transfer all remaining funds until your account balance reaches zero.
-
Settle all pending dividends and corporate actions — Wait until all outstanding dividends or corporate events have been fully processed.
-
No same-day transactions — You cannot submit an account closure request while trades, deposits, withdrawals, or transfers are still processing.
-
Unlink all externally linked accounts — Remove all externally linked accounts (such as banks, other brokerages, or credit unions). Please note: you should unlink your external accounts only after all funds have been withdrawn
When you open the account closure page, the App will automatically check these four conditions and display their status in real time. The Close account button will become available only once all four conditions are met_._
Step-by-Step Guide
- Open the account closure page
Go to the Longbridge App > Me > Account > Close Account.
- Complete the pre-closure checklist
The page will automatically check the four conditions and show the current status of each. If any condition is not yet met, go to the relevant section of the App (e.g., sell positions or unlink bank cards) and return to this page. The status will refresh automatically.
Once all four conditions are met, tap Close account to proceed.
- Verify your identity
A one-time verification code will be sent to your registered email address (default). To use your mobile number instead, tap Phone verification.
-
Your registered email or phone number is displayed on screen and cannot be edited.
-
If you have not linked an email or phone number, the corresponding verification option will not appear.
-
Enter the code you receive and tap Continue to submit your request.
- Submission confirmed
Once submitted, the system will automatically create a closure record and send it to Apex Clearing for review. A confirmation screen will appear. Tap Return to go back to your account page.

If your request is still under review, please contact our customer support team for assistance.
Q2: Why is the Close account button grayed out?

All remaining cash must be fully withdrawn before closure can proceed. Please initiate a withdrawal and allow time for settlement
