If you cannot receive the SMS verification code, it can be due to various factors. To help you resolve the issue, we’ve compiled the most effective solutions below. Please try these steps based on your specific situation.
Before you start: Confirm your phone number
If you’re encountering this during login or account opening, first make sure the phone number you entered is correct, including the right country / area code. A mistyped number is the most common cause.
Step 1. Refresh your mobile network signal
Turn on airplane mode, wait about 10 seconds, then turn it off to reconnect to the network. Try to obtain the verification code again.
Step 2. Check SMS blocking settings
Some security apps or phone systems may mistakenly block verification-code SMS. Please check:
-
The built-in spam / junk message folder on your phone.
-
The blocked SMS records of any third-party security apps.
Step 3. Check your phone’s SMS receiving function
Make sure you haven’t accidentally disabled SMS reception. Check that message notifications are enabled under Settings > Message > Notification.
- Do Not Disturb / Focus mode: When enabled, this feature can silence or hold incoming message alerts so you don’t notice the code arriving. Turn off Do Not Disturb (or add messages as an allowed exception) and check again.
Step 4. Restart your device and check your SIM card
After the checks above, you can try:
-
Restart your phone: Power off, wait a minute, then power on.
-
Reinsert the SIM card: Power off, remove the SIM, reinstall it securely, then power on again. (Note: If you are using an eSIM, which is common with US carriers, you can skip removing the physical card and simply restart your device).
Step 5. Confirm carrier and plan status
-
Confirm plan status: Check that your mobile plan is active and your carrier account is in good standing (i.e., your line is fully functional and not temporarily restricted).
-
Check for short-code blocks: Some mobile plans (such as corporate lines, certain prepaid accounts, or family plans) may have restrictions or filters enabled by default that block automated short-code SMS or commercial verification messages. If needed, you can contact your carrier’s customer service to ensure your number is permitted to receive these types of messages.
Step 6. Confirm local network and carrier status
In rare cases, there may be temporary issues with the mobile network or your carrier in your area. We recommend you:
-
Wait a few minutes and try again.
-
Check with friends on the same carrier in the same area to see if they have similar issues.
Alternative option: Contact customer service immediately
