Scammers often disguise themselves as trusted companies, customer support representatives, or even friends and family to trick you into sharing personal information. Knowing the warning signs is one of the best ways to protect yourself.

Common warning signs

1. Urgency and pressure

Scammers often create a false sense of urgency to push you into acting before you can think it through. Be especially careful with messages marked “urgent” or “time-sensitive,” or that threaten to lock or close your account unless you respond immediately. Take a moment to review any such message carefully.

2. Requests for sensitive information

Be suspicious of any email, phone call, or text asking for your password, Social Security number, or banking details. Longbridge support will never ask for your password, PIN, or verification codes.

3. Spoofed contact details

Scammers may impersonate legitimate companies using fake email addresses and look-alike URLs that closely resemble the real ones. Double-check the sender’s contact details, and avoid clicking links in suspicious emails. When in doubt, type the official website address into your browser yourself rather than following a link.

Tip: Legitimate companies won’t rush you, won’t ask for your password or verification codes, and won’t mind if you take the time to verify their identity through official channels.

If you suspect a scam

If you receive a suspicious email, text, or phone call:

  • Do not share any personal details.

  • Do not click on any suspicious links or open unexpected attachments.

  • Reach out directly to Longbridge support at support@longbridge.com or through the Longbridge app to verify any communication you believe did not come from our team.
